I am familiar with Barcus Berry so knew what I was ordering. You sent me 2 in error. I only ordered one.It is used to amplify an acoustic guitar.

I bought on of these and kept it about two weeks then sent it back for another thinking it must be defective. It had a loud hiss and was not covering the low end sounds. I was sent another and it is just the same.

the audio connector is too heavy, and the provided double sided sticky tape is not that great adhesive. the pick up is really good.

This is a contact microphone that sounds good in string instruments, exactly as expected. But you can not compare with others as akg condenser microphones c411pp. But for the price it is an excellent investment

I am not the best of musicians so take this with a grain of salt. I ordered this pick-up because the description said it works on virtually all arch top guitars and instruments and mandolins. If you follow the mounting instructions (which calls for it to be put right in front of the bridge) the pick-up does not reproduce a very good sound and does not mount flush. It gives a tinny sound with a lot of distortion on the "A" and "E" strings of a mandolin. After reading about a few other pick-ups and where they mounted, I started moving this pick-up around on my mandolin until I found the best spot for it on my Loar LM-520. It appears the the best spot for my mandolin is at the edge of the tail piece at a 90 degree angle. It mounts flush at that position and gives a nice fairly clean tone through my Peavey amp that I bought at the same time so I can plug my laptop into it and play along being able to hear both my mandolin and the music.
