This is more cost-efficient than clay cat litter by far, and I cannot smell a thing from the cat box. Also, it doesn't stick to my cat's feet like clay does and thus doesn't get tracked around the house like clay litter. A grain or two can get caught between my cat's toes and get flicked on the floor as she's stepping out of the litter pan, but that's it. The sharp glass-like silica crystals ARE as sharp as legos so I recommend to sweep regularly around the pan or wear house slides.Usage advice: You can visibly see the crystals that have absorbed a lot of waste, and I economize by scooping out the untouched crystals and topping up the pan with them after I dump out the waste. I find that liquid waste tends to filter down to the bottom of the box and form a layer underneath the less-soiled crystals, so keep an eye out for that.Be sure and wear a mask that filters well and seals well to your face when you're pouring it if you are at all sensitive to dust. I personally find breathing it in to be irritating to my nose and throat and sinuses. To my understanding, it's far too small of an exposure to cause health damage just breathing in the dust a little bit as your change the litter box every week or every other week, but I just find it unpleasant. It's unavoidable to have a fine powder of silica dust amongst the larger grains, so it's not an issue of false advertising or anything, just the nature of the material itself. If you have asthma, be cautious, and it's worth pouring it into the litter pan outside if you can.Overall evaluation -- if you have a cat and you're not using this type of litter product, you're doing your nose and your wallet a disservice.

**Warning: Silica litter caused serious health problems for me and my cats—please research and fact check me.**After four years of using silica litter (including all four options from this brand), I can’t ignore the risks anymore. At first, it seemed great—convenient and dust-free, and I could breathe around cats! But over time, every bag got dustier, even though they claim it’s "99% dust-free." Pouring it or watching my cats dig in it sent clouds of dust into the air, making my air purifier show dangerous dust levels. The results were bad: I needed an inhaler for two years, and one of my cats got asthma. Foster kittens also suffered—one scratched her cornea because dust stuck to her paws and got in her eyes. She needed eye drops and creams to stop the pain. After talking to my vet and doing research, I switched to corn and walnut litter. It’s been amazing. In three weeks, my cat stopped coughing, the kittens’ eyes healed, and I haven’t used my inhaler since. Corn/Walnut litter is truly dust-free and cheaper too. Especially when you have 5 cats!I’m sharing this on all silica litter products I’ve used because the risks are real. If you’re thinking about silica litter, please be careful. Corn and walnut litter are safer and healthier—I highly recommend them!

I love this stuff and it works great but it's just way too small bag and I have to pour the whole bag in one litter box because it absorbs wonderfully but it just doesn't last long because it's such a small bag and it doesn't smell bad but it doesn't have a strong smell either because cats don't care for strong smells. It is a crystallized color kind of, if that makes any sense. It doesn't make it any more difficult to clean the litter box than without it. It might make it easier. But it does help with the smell 100% And I will definitely buy this again as I already have but because of the money it's only 8 bucks yes but when I only use it one time and every time I clean it I want to use another bag it adds up and I just can't afford it.

I've been using clay litter and the dust bothered my asthma plus I have an American Bully who was wheezing and rasping from the dust so decided to try this product. Noticed a huge difference immediately in my and my dog's breathing. There is no odor at all which shocked me and so easy to clean. Btw- I am not paid or receive free products for my review and am genuinely happy I tried this product. I admit it costs so much more than clay litter but think about what the dust from the clay litter is doing to your cat and to you. If you love your cat.....at least try this product once and you seriously will not regret it. I have 2 cats and had to dump the litter box of clay litter almost everyday and the smell of ammonia was terrible. I only change this litter about every 2 weeks as the beads soak up the urine and I scoop the poop almost immediately. I buy alot from Amazon and this is the one thing I highly recommend.

This product is great, compared to the regular litter. i believe my cats prefer it over pellets and the stone litter. It’s softer for their toe beans. It doesn’t clump & really absorbs the pee. If you have a frmale cat, you know how important it is. Usually lats about a week and a half before i can smell it, i do scoop the box once every 3 days. Value of money vs how long it lasts is decent. Seems my kitties like it much better. It does sometimes get stuck in their tearducts, thats my only vice of this stuff.

Contrary to packaging claims, one bag does not last a full month. I have to switch mid month for two reasons: 1. Pee pools on the bottom. I stir as per directions which helps it evaporate but it still smells bad. 2. The crystals are too big to fall through the scooper grate and I end up throwing away a certain amount of crystals each time I scoop poop, which is daily. I’m going to try and find a scoop with bigger holes in the grate but who thought I’d ever be spending my precious time on earth searching for big- holed pooper scoopers? Overall though, the unpleasant odor is much more tolerable than with clay litter. It’s not ammonia, more like a muted sickly chemical smell which doesn’t bug me quite as much.

I am brand new to using silicone litter, and I had purchased this litter for the environment factor as well as the health benefits I read about it for cats. This was my first time ever using silicone litter, and maybe I should have done a bit more research on it, but I don’t think I’ll ever go back to using it again. I clean the litter box every day, and it always had an incredibly foul smell after my cat using it. This is probably because I did not think about how difficult it is to clean urine from a non-clumping litter. The litter ended up not being able to absorb the waste very well, and ended up having a watery mess all over the box I would have to clean out very often. Because my cat is a very clean guy and the smell started to become super foul, I ended up using the whole bag in only two weeks :(So, if you’re new to silicone litters like I was, be prepared to have a difficult time cleaning the urine out, it may get pretty stinky after your cat using it, and maybe buy two bags instead of one. (And maybe do a little more research than I did to make sure it’s the right litter for you)

I was skeptical and I've only been using it for two weeks, but I have two very smelly cats and there traditional litter was not only dusty but didn't deal well with smells, especially since it's a small area and apartment. The price is a bit tough to swallow, but it has held up to its advertisement. There is zero smell, even when cleaning poop, and it's a bit strange to see yellow beads full of urine, but they really hold in the smell and fluid, but you have to stir it daily. My cats had a long digging session to get used to it, the pearls are bigger than I thought, but the cats really don't mind it. Very light and I'm not sure I'll get a full month, but I won't hesitate to reorder, and highly recommend if you live in a very small space so no smell to deal with.

I have recently started searching for a new litter for my cat as she has just this year started urinating A LOT. She's 14 years old so I suspect it's her age. I was using any variety of Arm & Hammer clumping clay litter for the last 14 years and was relatively satisfied with it. As mentioned, this past year my cat started urinating much more, and I was noticing pools of urine in the box every 3 days or so, which lead me to begin my search. I started with Dr. Elsies clumping litter. This litter clumped famously, however I was met with massive heavy chunks of clay each time I scooped. After breaking a litter scoop, I thought I would try crystal litter. I began with PrettyLitter, to see if my cat was sick. She's fine, but that litter only lasted 2 weeks and it was saturated. This litter was my second try at crystal litter. I was hopeful, however, it's been 10 days and the litter is too far gone. I was even realistic about the situation and used 2 bags in the box, knowing my cat goes a lot. I sifted it twice a day every day, and scooped the poops as instructed, however after day 7 I realized it wasn't going to make it. I immediately ordered another brand. It took a few days to arrive, and I definitely should have replaced this litter 2 days ago, but today, day 10, was when I got the new bag. Please note the pictures, with about 1/4 inch of urine in the bottom of the box. This was 2 bags! So, I'm less than satisfied. Note my cat is 14, goes a lot, and I keep the box in the basement (which may be affecting the absorbency due to humidity, however, I do have central air and a humidifier on the unit). Anyway... my search continues. If you have a small young cat who goes a regular amount, this litter might be for you. If however you have an old cat or a large cat, I suggest 2 bags of this litter will last you a week.

So I was using pretty litter which was amazing, but way too expensive for my taste. I went on a hunt for something comparable that was cheaper. Ultra pearls was half the price. I only managed to make it last three weeks instead of four. It was soaked with urine and pretty gross and the crystals were hard on the feet. But it didn’t smell. When I changed it that was a pool Of urine in the bottom of the litter pan. I was reasonably happy with it but still on a quest to find something comparable to pretty N of urine in the bottom of the litter pan. I was reasonably happy with it but still on a quest to find something comparable to pretty Litter at a decent price.
