Don't try wacking these wedges with any force with a metal hammer they will just break apart. Very weak and brittle cheap plastic. If you are just tap tapping these in to hold your cut open they will work. If you are trying to wedge over a tree, forget it, you will have a big problem as they break apart and jam up your back cut.

These guys are great! This particular variety pack as well. The plastic seems just as good as the Stihl wedges, and I appreciate the price! I'd recommend!

I'm not a professional arborist, but do cut down trees for hunting, firewood, etc., I've wanted some wedges for some time to help get a bit more control over trees in iffy situations. Probably for use 6 to 10 times per year. I haven't been able to put these to the test on felling any large trees yet (and realistically I probably wouldn't bother using the smallest wedges in the set). These are solid wedges with gripping nodules protruding from them so they won't slip out. I have pounded them into some stumps I've been splitting (just to test toughness) and they drive in nicely. The bag they come in won't last five minutes in the woods. It would be ideal if it were made from tougher material. I'm glad to have these in my milk crate of chainsaw equipment to take out in the field with me. The orange color is nice for contrast with the ground and when cutting.

Solid wedges, seem to be made of hard enough plastic to last a while. The bag is pretty light-weight, though, so plan to have something else to contain the wedges soon after you start to use them. One or two catches on rough snags, saw blades, or heavy wear and tear, and I think it'll some apart.Good wedges.
