We go through many uncrustables in this house & tend to cut the crusts off of other sandwiches. I thought this would be a cute, money saving device that we could use for all basic sandwiches. The one I have pictured consisted of one piece of salami & 2 slices of cheese and as you can see... it did not go well. If this product is going to work for anyone in our house, it's my husband but he had no luck here. He pushed down the base as much as he could. It didn't feel as though it went completely through the sandwich but we thought maybe the crimper would help in separating it. Nope! It was just a mess, the pictures depict how stuck it all got. It just wasted some food.So I thought perhaps that was just too thick, I'll try a regular PB&J. This time I pushed down hard on the base & even tried to spin it a tiny bit to get through that second slice. I did as much as I could, pushed the button but for the life of me I could not get it completely disconnected. I end up ripping little bits away from the edges like peeling away dough from a cookie cutter but the end result looked nothing like an uncrustable, it's just a hot mess. I really wanted this to work, I even had my mum & sister try on separate occasions but after that I got sick of wasting food. This was a bust.

My one-year-old son loves uncrustables but they are ridiculously expensive. So when I saw this product I decided to give it a try. Well, I messed up the first few I tried to make. I quickly realized there's a trick to using this. After you punch one side of the sandwich you have to flip it over and punch the other side in the same spot. Then carefully tear the crust off while still holding the puncher in place. Doing it like this allows me to seal it completely and I get the same pattern on both sides. Then I just place the home made uncrustable in a freezer bag and throw it in the freezer. I would definitely recommend this product if you want to save money and your kids love uncrustables. It's also very easy to wash.

First and foremost, this did NOT come with any directions. So it's trial and error - which in today's economy isn't cool. I made my PBJ sandwich (pb on both sides of the bread and jelly in the middle). Took the cutter and place it on top and pushed down until I thought the bread was cut. I pushed the handle down to seal the sandwhich thinking it was hard enough. When I pulled up, the cutter release the sandwhich, but didn't cut the round circle of the sandwhich or go through the second piece of bread. I tried again, but took a knife and cut around the edges of the cutter and pressed really hard on the handle to seal it. It never fully sealed the sandwich on both sides and ended up squeezing the jelly through a crack of the bread.Like I said in the beginning, this is going to be a trial and error process. It works, but it takes a little TLC to make it cut and seal the sandwich. Once I get the hang of this, I'll be able to make my kiddos meals, store them in the freezer for day of lunches at school!

I love whole grain bread with nuts and seeds, but they get in the way of squishing the two sides together (not the cutter's fault). Also, a moist bread works best, because the top half is really what needs to stretch across whatever's inside. The cutter is also quite small, but fits the tiny/small loaves perfectly.I very much enjoyed my crustless PBJ sandwich, even if my bread of choice wasn't a proper option for the crimper. Clean up was easy enough, but it did help that I used a brush to help get the peanut butter out.My next trial will be a grilled cheese sandwich (once my panini grill arrives). A sandwich just tastes better crustless!!I like this fun little (literally) kitchen gadget, and recommend it with a 5-Star rating for a quality product.
