Filters fine particulates. We have high iron content in our water. When we fill the tub initially after a cleaning, the water is yellow with iron. I use this filter and take it out fout or five times, rinse it and put it back in. Takes all the iron out and the water becomes crystal clear. Then I use filter cleaner and it's ready to go again. I keep two on hand to switch out and clean the filter once in awhile. Good product.

replacement for Beachcomber 550 model. looks identical to OEM filter that came with tub.. same dimensions, same inner PVC pipe with round holes arranged in spiral. filters good, easy to clean between pleats. comparable to pleatco PL25, though Pleatco filter has a different inner PVC pipe with rectangular holes arranged in a grid that allows much larger water flow. good to have 2 filters in the winter, allows for a quick replacement and rinse indoors.

This is a standard filter that fits exactly like it should in my hot tub. Lasts a long time when properly cleaning with cartridge cleaner every month or so. Very well priced considering the local prices for similar filters.

This is the type of the filter that came with my Nordic Hot Tub and it worked great. When it was time for a new one after one year my dealer could not get this brand so I tried another. I was very unhappy. The Unicel filters move more water through, keep my tub much cleaner, and are easy to clean. We use our tub about four nights a week and these easily last a year with monthly cleaning. I won't use anything else.

I purchased these filters for my spa not knowing if they were the right ones or not. They turned out to fit just fine, and have been a fine replacement for the "who knows how old" old one the was in there when I recently bought my house. These filters seem to be doing a great job of keeping the water filtered and clear.

Here's a tip... get two of these and alternate them. Pick up some filter cleaner and spray the filter down, let sit for a while, then rinse out. Then - and this is important for getting long life out of them - rinse it out and soak it in a bucket of water with a bit of plain ole' chlorine bleach. It seems to really get the gunk out and would of course sanitize the filter as well. After doing so, ours appears close to brand new. Having two allows one to be in cleaning progress and one to be used simultaneously.
