New Version Circuit Board offers better protection
The new version upgrades the design of ignitor rod controlling system and prevent the controller from burning up due to the short circuit of the ignitor rod. In most cases, even the fuse will stay in good condition when short circuit occurs.

I replaced the original with this one, but on the opening smoke my outlet shorted and my auger stopped working. Don't know why but I can't help but see some degree of cause- and-effect

My Pit Boss Lexington 540 Sq, controller arrived dead from the store. I called and they happily warrantied the controller and sent a new one out. Les than a year later the replacement controller was dead randomly again. So I ordered this one and so far - so good. Will update when I get longer term experience.Easy to Program also.

I purchased this control panel due to my Pit Boss one fading the screen when it warmed up. It looked great, seemed of decent quality. When I first tried it out, I noticed the internal temperature guage was not surpassing 160 degrees when I'd have it set at 200 or more. I could however get it to pass once I cranked it to 300. Then I cranked it back to 250 and it somewhat elevated. Come this last Saturday I hosted a "friendsgiving" for about 15 people. Not only did I have the same issue happen, once I set the temp to 300, it automatically stuck the auger to constant feed and set my whole grill on fire. Thank God I was keeping a close eye on it. I ended up taking the control panel out and putting the original one back in. While it looks nice, I do not recommend as it is very unreliable and fire hazard.

Got my PitBoss up and running awesome again. My screen went out and unit wasn’t running properly so I bought this unit to replace and can’t be more excited about it. Running perfectly and smoking some pork butts now. Thanks greatly appreciate the product.
