It's really not compatible with android. Didn't get recognized. I didn't return it because I decided to use it on one of my pc's but the reason I ordered was for an android device.

My keyboard doesn't have media buttons so this volume knob was sorely needed. Feels high quality and has a nice "click" feel as you rotate up and down. Very pleased.

I ordered this volume control knob for my PC setup after I upgraded to a mechanical keyboard that didn't have an integrated volume knob. This volume knob was a good replacement for my old keyboard. Setting it up was extremely easy. All you have to do is a plug it in to a USB port and it just works. The build quality is great and it feels really smooth to use. It also looks really clean. Its a great way to easily adjust volume without searching for the volume button on your keyboard or trying to do it in software.The USB cable on this is plenty long so you have a lot of options for installing it. It also comes with a little storage bag which was a nice touch. The quality and function of this accessory is great and I would highly recommend it if you don't already have a volume knob on your computer. It makes adjusting volume way easier and faster. Great product.

I had some mild concerns picking this up that it would not work on my Linux system. These concerns proved to be unfounded as it worked immediately when I plugged it on.My keyboard has volume up/down keys, but I just don’t like them very much in comparison to a proper volume knob. I was able to set it up such that the volume incremented in smaller amounts for better fine control. Doing that would be annoying with volume shortcut buttons because you’d have to press them a bunch to significantly change the volume. Not so with a knob. You just give it a spin and you’re good.The physical construction of the knob is quite good. The housing is metal—likely aluminum—as is the knob itself. The cable is a very flexible braided affair which feels quite nice. From a tactile perspective, the knob feels like a pretty standard rotary encoder. It has a pretty reasonable click with each increment, not too much or too little resistance.The one feature the knob has that it doesn’t really need is a little blue light. The light is diffuse and glows dimly, but brightens and fades down again whenever you adjust the volume. As I mentioned, this light is entirely unnecessary, serving no real purpose. I’m personally not a fan of blue LED lights, and would have preferred white or—which they would probably never do—old-school green-yellow.Other than the superfluous LED, my only real complain with the product is that it does not weight much. I would prefer it to be a hefty chunk of steel that won’t move around, but alas, it is lightweight aluminum that is too easily bumped about.

I do like the dial and it does what I wanted it to do. My only complaint would be to be able to adjust the speed at which the dial changes the volume. It takes alot of turns to adjust the volume, for me it would be better to take less turns.

Since I ordered this, I got a new DAC that has a nice volume knob up front, so didn't need it as much.But I did just test it, and am pretty impressed with it.Installation was 'automatic' and worked with my DAC almost immediately.What I especially like is the push to mute function, and that, when rotated or pushed, the blue LED brightens up, but then dims down after the action is completed.Simple, but really useful.(It does not weigh much - if I were to use this regularly, I'd mount it in a nice heavy bit of exotic wood to hold it steady.)
