This is a ferrite ring, not a magnet. It has no magnetism.
Iron powder core is generally stored near signals of place.
It has the characteristics of isolating eddy current, low permeability and restraining interference.
Used widely in power transformers, current transducers, instrument transformers, inductors, chokes, ballasts, voltage stabilizers and regulators, welding transformers, broad band transformers, filters, etc.

I use them as brush motor RF killers. Just make a circle inside them with the wires to the motor and it kills all the harsh AM radio along with .1 uF caps on the connections. Attenuation of RF from brush motors is important for use in medical.

Bought these to cure some servo glitching on my RC tank. The chokes are nicely made and the servo connector fits through them but they did not solve my glitching problem.

The attenuation from these is so low it's almost like not using them in the first place. I had to order a number of different ferrites and measure them. These ones here are among the junk ones. You can get use out of them if you stack like 8 of these together.
