Kind of strange wiring. Is apparently designed for 220 but it has a 110 plug. The female plug on the unit accepts a standard 110 plug, but the right side hot wire is wired straight through and the plug on the other end is not polarized. I marked the hot side of the plug so I can plug it in the right orientation. Since the hot side is wired straight through, the triac is on the neutral side. Everything works fine though once it is plugged in. I suppose you could come up with a scenario where this might be dangerous for some types of equipment - like if the neutral was bonded to the ground -but it works fine for what I'm using it for.

Wish I had a wire schematic with it. There is a different one on Amazon that is wired backwards. A bit concerned. Will know more tomorrow.

Arrived with damaged wire, I would fix but it does not even regulate voltage in my testing so no point. A literal paper weight.

This unit is actually a 220V rated unit. while it might be rated for 4000W, the wires are really small like 16GA or smaller. It will run on 120V, but I would not run anything more than 5A on it.
