It’s just not stable enough to record anything. I’ve tried tightening and moving where I’m putting the camera but it just doesn’t work without a massive amount of shaking

Don't bother with this helmet strap. It doesn't stay taught enough to steady a camera or light. Grab a stick on mount and call it a day.

elastic strap that goes through the helmet vents tends to die about 3 months into use and can't be tightened anymore. Poor quality mounting straps. 2nd one I bought. Will look into other means to secure my helmet camera when this one completely dies.

This worked OK. It was easy enough to figure out. It held my grope GoPro safely. I had to adjust in the middle of my 16 mile bike ride.
