Not very good for taking off parts you plan to reuse, tends to break them.

If you plan on using the wood for projects then this is not the one to buy. Not even good for making firewood. Absolutely destroys the boards. Handle is loose and flimsy. For a little more, the blue one of this brand is the one to buy. Blue is simply amazing in being able to get the full boards off unbroken or destroyed. Haven’t tried the nail puller part, but don’t have a lot of confidence in that part either.

Misleading description states tool is made of aluminum. Rather its made of steel and I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't arrive with rust blemishes in the finish. Also misleading as amazon will not allow a return (within days) despite saying its eligible for returns.Tool will severely damage pallet slats. I damaged about 75% of the slats on new / single use pallets despite tying different techniques. The angle of the fork is just too steep, the slats split or crumble as they are lifted from the edge rather than the bottom. Otherwise tool is sturdy and has great leverage for demolishing decks, pallets and pulling nails.

Great idea and it works, but it breaks all my boards because the angle of the tool head is a little off.

It works well but an adjustable handle would be great.

Works like it should on old pallet wood. As is a given, you always need a flat crowbar to assist you, splitting happens due to the thin wood. BUT it gets the job done for me and I built a large shed out of pallets with the help of this tool. Makes the taking apart of pallets faster then hammer and crowbar so great tool for the money!

Makes it so much easier to break pallets apart. We piled up huge stacks of pallets over the summer, thinking we'd use them in our wood furnace this winter. Frozen pallets dull a chainsaw fast. This tool pops them into boards we can stack and cut through fast. And, now we can pop off the heavier boards that are nicer, for summer projects. It is the right length for my 6' 3" hubby and for my 5' 6", has grip, strength, and is super easy to use. My new best friend!

This tool is awesome, it is by far the best purchase I have made from Amazon in the last 5 years. Is it simple? Yes. Does it wreck pallets? Yes. That's the greatest thing about it, It's called a pallet buster not 'Pallet reclamation tool for yuppy folk art'.I live way out in bush Alaska 7 miles off the northern most point of the Bering Sea. It's cold as hell here, and there isn't a damn tree around for 100 miles. This kinda puts a damper on the joys of owning a wood stove. I used to spend hours with a sawsall in hand vibrating the fillings from my teeth. Finally, one day, when I was down to my my last little foil finder, I found this on Amazon. When it arrived (free shipping, thank you prime), I looked at it and said "What a piece of $4!+". it looked chinsy as all get out. So it sat in the corner getting dirty looks for two weeks.Tonight I finally got the courage up to confront my fear of making a purchase while ignoring all the negative reviews. I made short work out of seven pallets without even breaking a sweat. This thing is AMAZING! and it is sooooo simple.I just read a review from some lady saying she bought this for her husband to reclaim wood from pallets to stick together with a glue stick or something and sell at a craft fair.... Lady, unless you have MS there is no reason you can't be using this yourself*. This thing practically rips the pallets itself. I got to a point where I had to tell my little SKB-7 "Whooooaaaaa buddy, slow down before we run out of excuses to be in the garage drinking beer!".Now, if you are the kinda sissy that wants to save the Brazilian Rosewood from being turned into knick knacks sold at the farmers market, maybe you should go purchase your wood from a reputable wood seller that uses minimum impact logging techniques and fertilizes the forest with dream catchers and love.But... If you are a man, and I mean a real man, the kind that grows a beard not because it is fashionable, but because that hundred year old bow saw you use to shave with just doesn't get close enough to the skin for ya. The kinda of man that will jump out the bathroom window just to pee outside... yeah, that kinda man, and you want to BUST some pallets... this is the tool for you. This tool does its job, and it does it well. I would highly recommend it for anyone in the market for a tool marketed and built to BUST PALLETS.*p.s.For all you little artist out there, soak your pallets in water or just keep em damp with a sprinkler for a few days and they will fall apart nicely when approached with any tool.
