This is the perfect little sewing light. Currently I have it attached to my sewing machine so that I can actually see the needle properly. However, I often take it off and use it as a reading light in my bedroom too. Was very easy to set up or pick it up and move it to another location. This makes it very functional and a great value. It doesn't get terribly hot either which is something I have had an issue with in the past with these type of lights. The cord is sufficiently long although I wouldn't be upset if they added a tad bit more length. However, if you're only going to use it on sewing machine then you do also don't want too much cord in your way, so there's that. Very pleased with my order.

Theres an AC plug. So the first thing I did was measure how many watts it draws. The Kill-a-Watt meter said zero. But it has to be drawing something... Then on the side of the box I see it says 110 volts / 0.5 Watts.The 30 or so LEDs draw less than a watt.The output is a fairly bright, focused beam, a glaring white light, color temperature not suitable for reading, but just what you want when working with a machine.And since a machine will be plugged into the wall, the AC plug is preferred, in my opinion.Magnets needs iron. This light needs some exposed iron near where you're working. Perfect for something like a drill press or lathe. I don't think my sewing machine has any metal on the outside... Asking price was $14.16.
