I didn't actually install this item. I ordered 2 different items as a replacement for an existing light fixture. I ended up using the other product only because it as a better match for the original. the decision was purely cosmetic, not quality.

Used this to cover a removed ceiling fan during reno. to hang a non electric chandelier, so perfect. Not sure what the long brass piece was for, but didn't need it. I put 2 extra screws in for extra security ( hung on 80 year old wood ceiling). Came with all parts needed, and covered the area needed, so measure.

Use this product to replace an entire assembly not to retro fit an existing install. The parts will work but need a little engineering to make it work. Not for you average Handy-Joe.

Since my ceiling outlet wasn't working and just had the wires hanging. This is perfect for me to put up and not so noticeable that there isn't a light fixture up there. I will be ordering more.

The overall design was great and allowed us to creating our own DIY light fixture. The opening for wires was a little small but is probably standard sizing. Great option for any light fixture and the color matched perfectly for the style/color we needed.

It matched the batina on what I was hanging. Pretty easy to put up, worked with the electrical box in the ceiling. The price point is good for what you get.The only thing that they should have added are different size screws.
