These shorts are just about perfect. On the left side there is a secure velcro cargo pocket and an inner side pocket perfect for quick access for whatever you need it for (bag of screws, tape measure, etc.) On the right side you have two smaller pockets. One is wide enough to fit an iphone 13 pro perfectly, but it sticks out about 2 inches. This makes for quick access, but less secure from falling our or out in public for getting lifted. The other has sturdy stitched divider that is good for small tools like pliers, pens, flashlights, etc., but I'll probably cut the divider stitch to use that pocket for storing my phone more securely. These shorts won't replace the features of a work belt, but sturdy and handy as well as great for everyday active shorts (skating, mountain biking, hiking, etc.). The 80% cotton - 15% nylon material feels sturdy and somewhat breathable for warmer weather...but probably not my go to for tropical climates.
