This "red dot" is really a prism scope. The glass is super clear. You don't even need to turn it on to see the nice crisp reticle. Anyone who has an astigmatism will appreciate this optic. I've been using red dots from other popular brands even Vortex and they are a little blurry with my astigmatism. The Spitfire AR is crystal clear whether you use the the green or red dot and even off with the etched glass. The build quality is great as you would expect from Vortex and the lifetime guarantee.

I recently bought a Springfield AR-10 rifle and decided I wanted to put quality red dot optics onto it. My older brother told me about this brand after it was suggested to him by a gun shop owner. This was a pricey red dot sight but it was indeed worth it, I picked up a laser sighting round for my gun to home in this scope. To my surprise it was right on the money so I didn't need to adjust it at all. It's also perfectly clear to look through and can switch between red and green sights with different bright-to-dim levels. It was easy to put on just screws onto the top rail, and it hasn't come loose during any of the outings I've used it. But it does require a special starred screwdriver to tighten and loosen so you may need to pick that up separately. If you have the money to spend I would recommend this scope, a well made rifle deserves quality optics to go with it.

乱視のわたしには等倍のレンズが付いているこのタイプは有難いです。価格はそれなりにしますがしっかりとした物なので長く使えそうです。

I must have gone through hundreds of sites, reviews, videos, etc. looking for the perfect sight for my first AR-15 custom build. I had originally wish-listed the old Spitfire with DRT reticle, but that one was since seemingly replaced by this newer, smaller, cheaper (only cost-wise) version. Excellent sight. Excellent optics. Excellent body, heft, sturdiness, the built-in mount - all of it. Crystal clear reticle when lit in darkness, and the etching is outstanding in bright sunlight (don't need to turn it on at all when at the range).I love this thing. Just spent some quality time with the newly finished rifle at the range today and sighted this scope in first at 25 yards, then at 100. I had roughly sighted it in with a cheap bore sight in the garage prior to going, just to be sure that I landed on paper at all.The 5.56 BDC turret cap that comes with it really helped seal the deal for me (zero at 100 yards, install cap, and you now have a bullet drop compensator for longer ranges). I wanted a 1x, red-dot type scope for home defense, but with the ability to have fun at the range. This scope does that and even allows for playing at longer distances should the opportunity arise. The etched prism allows family members with astigmatism to see clearly. No worries about warping edges or fuzzy reticles with a 1-6x. Just simple "it works" hardware that will probably outlast the rifle itself. Don't forget the name, either. Vortex's lifetime worry-free warranty means I don't have to worry about dropping this thing straight to pavement.

My favorite, and I've used them all.First, the glass is perfect. Even with my aim point PRO and T1, there is some coloration to the glass. I think they have to be that way due to the projected reticle. The glass on this Vortex is perfect. Zero coloration at all. Crystal clear. Can't tell my right eye looking through the scope from my left eye's image. The reticle on the Vortex is edged on glass, and can be seen during the daylight without turning on illumination. There is no glare from the reticle.Second. Convenience. Comes with the mount. Uses readily available AAA battery (included). Controls up front. Windage and elevation knob could be smaller since most of the time they are set and left unchanged. Flip up caps are included and very nice. Some minor complains. It's definitely bigger than the Aimpoint T1/Vortex sparc etc. About the size of the Aimpoint PRO. If you're used to the typical red dots with infinite eye relief, this scope is not quite as forgiving. There is definitely a range for the eye relief with this Vortex. It's quite generous, but you do see the barrel effect when outside the range of the eye relief.Overall, I really like this scope. It's got amazing optical clarity, excellent retinal clarity. Convenient and easy to use. I think it's an excellent value at $210 and has become my favorite scope irregardless of price.
