The component is necessary to power type L tracks. It was easy to use. It is critical to know you have type L track as this will not work with type H or J track or fixtures.

The item pictured is not the item received. The item received has silver contacts that are not wide enough to make contact with all brands of track in the same type. If you understand track, you know there are several different styles made by numerous manufacturers which are supposed to be compatible with each other. This simply is not compatible with track it should work with.I love the build quality but it simply doesn't work with some track. I had to use a much cheaper made style in order to get it to work. Very disappointing.

Does not fit at all. Not even on the WAC track lighting with it. ..... well now we know why they are called "WAC" is because they suck

Works fine. Looks good. But this is one of those infuriatingly expensive adjunct pieces that drive you crazy. If this costs $0.50 to manufacture, I'd be amazed.
