Returned, build quality was a little lacking and it shipped with no padding so there were several places where the muffler busted through the box.

I put this on a 2000 Lexus LX 470. It lined up but the pipe on the 2 inlets were smaller and the gaskets did not fit right and the bolt holes were bigger than the original. The outlet had to be welded to the tailpipe, clamp would not work.

Job took about 1 hour to remove the original muffler and 1/2 hour to install the new muffler. I saved the two copper gaskets that connect the front end of the muffler to the two catalytic converter output flanges. The walker muffler output is straight 2 1/8 O.D. tube, whereas the oem muffler output has a raised lip mid-way on the spigot and uses a band type clamp. So to connect the new muffler output to the oem tailpipe/resonator, I used a 2 1/4 O.D. standard exhaust clamp. The pipes on both inputs and the output lined up with oem. The hangers needed adjustment by bending the new hangers slightly. This was done with both oem and new mufflers off the vehicle and compared side-by-side. The steel hangers were easy to bend using a short piece of steel pipe for leverage. Aside from this minor adjustment, the walker fit well. The weight of the walker is about 12 pounds, and the weight of the oem is about 29 pounds. the walker is supposedly 409 stainless, and it is magnetic. the oem also appeared to be stainless, but over the years has succombed to rusting perforation. the oem also includes a vibration damper that is bolted to the rear end of the oem muffler. the walker has no provision for attaching this vibration dampe. however, there is no noticeable vibration or noise difference. the sound is oem sound. because it's still new, I have no data on rust-proofness at this time.

Like a lot of aftermarket parts, it only kind of fits, after much cussing and whatnot. I bought this for my 2000 Land Cruiser. The OEM muffler assembly was a heavy beast, this is far cheaper from a material standpoint, but it may last just as long since the OE muffler was plain steel and rusted out first, whereas the body of this part is stainless and should hold up better. The front part of the muffler fit fairly well, only needed some minor prodding to get it to line up, but the gaskets that go with it are a bit of a joke as they don't quite fit. I had no problem getting the gaskets to work, but someone with less mechanical skill might install the gasket and pinch them, resulting in a leaker. The back side of this muffler looks like it was engineered (and then built) by someone with no capability. It is not a "direct OE fit" as they advertise, as the OE muffler seats against a rolled flange with gasket. This one simply slides into the OE resonator assembly. However, it won't slide right in, because the OE pipe has a projection on it that is designed to seat into a slot on the muffler pipe. It only took me a few minutes with an air grinder to modify to fit. Instead of then using the flange-style OE clamp, you simply use a U-bolt clamp to pinch the OE resonator pipe to snug it up. The really laughable mistake they made in either engineering or production is that one of the rear hangers is totally in the wrong spot! I simply just didn't connect this one, this muffler is considerably lighter (read cheaper) than the OE version, so it should be fine only suspended by the one hanger in the rear. Finally, Walker appears to be one of those companies that doesn't feel it is important to provide any documentation or support to their customers. Use this review as a guideline and you can install it successfully.Update: They advertise this as stainless steel, which implies it will last a long time. Well, mine still looks OK from the outside, but the baffles inside have broken and the muffler makes a loud rattling noise now which is very annoying. My original OEM muffler lasted 15 years, this one only 4 and a half years. Besides being a pain to install, the "cost per year" of this cheap muffler is actually higher than OEM.

The price was right, a much cheaper alternative to the OEM muffler. It did need some tweaking (read bending hanger brackets) No gaskets or bolts included. Make sure when installing it that the clearance between pipe to rear muffler doesn't touch the chassis or suspension parts. I needed to bend the the hanger brackets 3/4" to ensure a good fit. All in all it has performed well, it did take me a couple of tries to get it just right. My Lx470 is nice and quite again.
