Worked fine for the period of time it was in use, but then the fitting broke off right at the frog's butt, and we had to throw it away and buy another one.

Arrived damaged.The hose connector was broken, and not properly secured.Returned it, so hopefully the replacement one will be better.

I like the fact that the base is nice and flat, I have a fish that keeps tipping over on me, and this frog wont tip. Should last me a while. And I had another type of from where the feet stuck out separate and they chipped off, too fragile. These wont do that, which is why I chose this design. I had a turtle, his little head was too skinny and he too succumbed to the forces and died a gruesome death. So I have had experience with spitters to say the least and this one is the one you want to last you a while.

I bought this anyways, despite reading other reviews about it breaking. Mainly because it costs less than similar products. The Barb for attaching the hose snapped off the first time I tried attaching it, it is a very brittle plastic. I was stubborn, and bought a double Barb hose connector at a hardware store, I still spent less money than the other water garden fountains. The internal diameter of the hole after the Barb broke is 1/4". I like the TotalPond Frog, but not the one Amazon shipped to me. That one arrived broken due to poor packaging, combined with a somewhat flimsy, brittle plastic connection (broken) on the back of frog. I got my refund, no problem, and bought the same model online from Home Depot and picked it up at the store. That frog was packed well and was not damaged in transit. I have hooked it up (carefully, so as not to break the cheap plastic connector) and it works great. I had an approx. 15 yr. old snapping turtle spitter that was much better constructed. The connector end on that one was metal and it only recently loosened, causing the hose that goes to the mouth to start to pull out the back, making him dribble instead of spit the water! The turtle is now retired and just peeks out between some plants next to my pondless waterfall.

My 20+ year old concrete frog spitter was falling apart. I looked at local home improvement stores but could only find frog spitters that didn't appeal to me. After a search of online pond supply stores and not finding anything I liked, I looked where I should have started.This frog spitter is very similar in appearance to the one I was replacing. It arrived quickly and in good condition.I am thrilled with it.

We made our own recirculating birdbath and I needed something to "spit" the water into the birdbath in a nice stream. I bought Mr. Froggy here, but didn't pay enough attention to the dimensions. He's a bit larger than I wanted and i didn't think it would work once I set him into the bird bath. I mean, I definitely thought he'd scare the birds...he's much bigger than a chickadee or a wren. BUT, everyone (kids, husbands, kids friends...) liked him so much..... ( He's a friendly guy, I have to admit! ).... that they made me set him up again, after I had already tried him out and decided he was more of an intruder than a natural-looking addition.....and surprise, surprise....they were right. He's rather large, true, but he works! Good quality little statue for the price and the 1/2 inch tube fits onto the valve in the back perfectly. It's snug so it won't fall off.Mr. Froggie is a keeper. (If I can figure out how to upload a picture, I will. Seems that you can only attach a video.)

This was exactly what we were looking for. Very good quality and perfect size. Works great in our new pond! Very nice quality. This really is the best spitting frog statue at the best price.
