Hard Plastic doesn't grip well, if You kick them in and immediately put weight down on them they might work better, but still hard plastic grip!!!

I had a pair of such chocks that has taken a lot of abuse over more than a decade, and these ones are even studier: thick plastic and shaped such as to deform and distribute evenly the load. The bright yellow color is helpful not to forget these are in place – I ruined a different pair, black ones, as I forgot to remove them before moving the car. They also have handles, and a round eyelet that looks perfect for hanging them for storage.The grooves on the underside are not as aggressive and sharp as on some other such chocks. Still, because of the shape, these are very effective and do not budge under load, no slipping on asphalt.The one thing missing is the disclosure of a value for the maximum load. Neither the product page nor the included, brief card tell any specific number.Cannot evaluate durability as I just got these, expect they will last the same as the other, similar ones I have had foe more than a decade. The real differentiator is how well the plastic material ages, and there is no up-front indication of that.
