Bought this wheel while restoring a 1976 Raleigh Record. It was what I needed but be aware of the following. Turning the wheel on it's axle was not smooth. The wheel bearing had to be degreased, little if any grease found. The bearings were overtightened. After mounting tire, the wheel had to be trued. All of this should have been done by the factory in China..

Wheel could have come a bit straighter, but it was a lot straighter than the broken wheel. Make sure you have a sprocket tool to remove the old freewheel.

The wheel came straight and nice and did not require any alignment and spike tightening. The seller was very thorough with the packaging. The delivery time was rather long though - be aware of that (I bought it from the WheelMaster). If you need your bike fixed in couple days better buy it in your local bicycle store.The wheel is exactly what's needed for older Schwinn road runners and touring bicycles.

Bought a pair of these for a 1973 Super Sport used as a daily rider. Spun on a 5 ring freewheel, tubes and tires, The pair were surprisingly true out of the box, but did need a little tweaking. Nothing to complain about, Great value for what you get and half the price of aluminum. For something as heavy as what they are installed on you couldn't ask for better. I'll definitely look at WheelMaster for the next old Schwinn project.

I've been rebuilding an old 70's Univega 10-speed, and needed to replace the wheelset- this one and its front counterpart fit the bill perfectly, hub spacing and all is perfect. Looks very sharp too, they are heavy but that goes along with that era too. I want my bike to be bullet-proof.Definitely need to adjust the cone bearings out of the box- they're very tight, and some lubrication is needed, but that's not a big deal. They came surprisingly true as well... all in all, awesome product! For the price and purpose of restoring an older road bike, this is a solid deal
