Wheelmasters are not the lightest out there, but they are tough and good quality for the price. I use it on my trail bike and it can take the beating of the So Nevada trails.

My rear wheel, even after a break in tension check, lasted about 100 miles before the first bend. Checked again, and rode another 200 miles before it just went taco on a fast paced gravel and dirt ride. As for the rear hub, it's trash too.Fine for a casual commuter who doesn't bunny hop curbs, but if you do anything remotely XC, don't bother. (Photo: You can see the tire wanting to come off the bead after the wheel started bending. This happened on North Bend Rail to Trail, not anything too advanced)

Both the photo and the answered question/answers belong to a DRIVE wheel. The title description does say "FT," but nothing in the details mentions that this is a non-drive wheel. I ride a modern, front-wheel-drive bicycle, so the inaccurate/antiquated nomenclature is confusing enough without scrambling photos and info. The drive version of this wheel my be found here: https://www.amazon.com/WheelMaster-27-5-INFERNO-27-135mm-DTI2-0BK

Ive recently got back into mountain biking and put together a bike (on a budget) and wanted to run tubeless tires. Now these are not "tubeless ready" wheels and the question has been asked, Can these wheels run tubeless tires? The answer was (not reliably). I took a chance after watching some "how too" YouTube videos on making a non tubeless wheel, tubeless. I cleaned the rims with acetone using a lint free rag, ran 1" gorrila tape from valve stem hole and overlapped the hope by about .75" or 3/4 of an inch. Used tubeless ready presta valves, and placed the 2.4 wide by 27.5" tubeless ready tires on the rim. I seated the bead before putting Stans tire sealant to make sure the tires would hold air, they did, I let it sit overnight without the sealant and it held air pressure great (50psi). The next day I added the tire sealant, filled the tire with air and the rest is history. My tire has about 4 long rides (65 miles about) on them and I run 30 psi and it's super tacky and handling is insane compared to running tube tires. So I highly recommend these wheels whether you run tubes or go tubeless, they work great. Price can't be beat $88? Decent Shimano hub that spins forever, nice spokes, strong good looking wheel. Great customer service also.

This is a good quality wheel all trued and ready for a tire and tube. The parts to build it myself would have cost about the same.
