The original fan began to make substantial noise (late 2011 issue Mac) and was on it's last legs, so I ordered this fan. It came quick and the install was easy. It is reassuring to hear this fan kick on during use. This fan does not come with screws or tools. I already have the tools typically associate with the Mac and I re-used the original screws, which I prefer anyway.

Replaced a ‘late 2011’ 13” Macbook Pro fan that was very noisy. Fan fit and function is perfect so far. Once the laptop back is off there are 3 screws on the fan and two connectors to R&R (carefully)

This Mac fan ran perfect for a little over a year, then suddenly got louder and louder day by day. Nothing very very good, last very very long.

No issues with installation. The fan is quiet and works as intended. No issues after several weeks of heavy laptop use. Would recommend.

Still iffy with this one. I wanted to replace my old fan in general so I went with this particular product. Right off the bat, I noticed that the wire connection of the fan was considerably “thinner” than the stock one I had on my macbook. I was just afraid that if I pulled at it or made a mistake in attaching that the wire would be snapped. The fan makes a considerable louder sound than my previous one when the macbook overheats but is relatively more silent than the previous one under normal circumstances.

Our 2011 MBP was getting noisy — and then it got real quiet, but HOT.* I ordered this fan, popped this bad boy in and MBP is cool, quiet and happy again. As am I!* A little free software tool called SMC Fan Control shows the processor temperature in the menu bar — and lets you control the fan speed, helping you diagnose fan problems like ours. “Required download” for any Mac laptop, esp. older ones.

I've only used the product for 1 week, but it's working great! No noise, computer stays cool, and the best part is the price. Apple store quoted me hundreds of dollars to fix the computer, so this saved me a lot of money. I definitely recommend this product!

It's doing the job but the noise level is much more noticeable at the highest speed of 6200rpm in my MacBook Pro Intel Core i5 2.5GHz A1278 Mid-20212 - 13" Widescreen now, It seems to be an exact same model as the original one that I just replaced ( new replacement fan on the left in the photo ).I don't mind the noise level that much at higher speed and can change the fan speed through smcFanContorl when needed so all in all a good choice for the price.
