Immerse yourself in the intriguing world of the gaseous planet Celus, where buoyant gas keeps everything afloat in the skies. Without it, the city would plummet into the scalding core of the planet. You are the captain of a ship, and your job is to fly the skies of Celus to hunt Cresters and bring gas back to the city. You will need to hire crew workers from the trading post—each crew member is specialized, so choose wisely! To become the most notorious captain on the planet, you and your crew must successfully traverse the atmospheric pressure differences and vigorous winds, make good use of stops at the floating trade post, and face battles with other ships and captains. It’s an engaging strategy game that challenges players to: Master the skies by harnessing the power of ever-changing winds and get ahead of opponents by using the wind in creative and clever ways; Build their engine and hire a crew of specialists and gather supplies to evolve the ship throughout the game, optimizing their choice strategy; Pick up and deliver—hunt leviathans and bring them back to the floating city, avoiding opponents who attempt to get in the way; Give orders to the crew in order to maximize production—manage crew morality, storage space and supply reserves to lead the ship to victory! For 1 to 5 players, ages 14+.

Whale hunting air pirates. This about sums up this game in a nutshell. The planet you "sail" the skies on has an eternally blowing wind that changes directions frequently, which changes where you can navigate to and if you should happen to get attacked by the planet's native creatures (crestors, i.e. "sky whales"). You're trying to harvest these creatures for their teeth in order to build up one's notoriety. Once harvested, you have to return to the sky base with them in tote. Along the way, you'll likely be attacked by crestors and perhaps even be looted by your fellow air pirates! There's crew to hire, equipment items to assist you on your expeditions and even objectives to accomplish while you're gaining your booty and notoriety.Overall, the game has a decent amount of depth to it and seeing what happens if you try Strategy A or Strategy B or Strategy C adds to its replayability. There's different heros (pirates?) to choose from, each with an asymmetrical bonus, that can certainly sway how you play and what strategies to employ. At a 1-5 players count with game duration at around 45-60 minutes for the game, Windward is sure to bring about some entertaining game nights.

Really cool game has a lot of interesting stuff to do only problem is the rule set is a little bit hit or miss and you got to look up stuff online and the figurine parts are not the sturdiest things you'll probably need a super glue a couple back together

The box says 1-4 players. It's *technically* true, but the solo variant for this game is so ridiculously hard that it's impossible to use it as an entry point into this game.Only buy if you plan to play multiplayer.

Not particularly a pretty game. The colors are kind of blah but the game itself is fun.

This game is one of the best games I have played in awhile. The play time is not that extended but it has a complexity to it that keeps it interesting at the same time. The theme is good like a Moby Dick adventure, steampunk type game, adventures and creatures to hunt.

I wasn’t very sure about buying this game, it looked too cool to be true. But well, the game is entertaining, you can play several modes, easy to learn and joyful to play. I recommended. The min figures, the dice, and the map itself are fantastic.

The game itself is very good. The atmosphere it has is very nice supported with great artwork. I cant wait to put a few more hrs of playtime into it.Kind of unfortunate:I have ordered two at a very nice price. They both came, one in good condition one in not such a good condition. They were shipped separately (idk why) and one came in a plastic bag so all the corners of the game’s box were messed up a little and one came in a paper box which did a much better job of protecting the game.

Despite a rather unfriendly whaling theme, the set comes with a wide variety of miniatures and is quite fun to play with!

I love the game. I love all of the little, nerdy, pieces. But the instruction manual is atrocious. The game is fairly simple to play but it took about half an hour to learn because I kept saying, "Wait, what?" and flipping back to earlier on the booklet. But once that's out of the way the game is engaging and competitive. The single-player mode is very challenging and creative.
