I'm a senior who refuses to side in with Pay to View TV. I have a Rooftop Winegard TV Antenna, however owing to the growth of Trees in my area the Signal has diminished in strength. This is the second Winegard Amplifier I've purchased, the other one was from a different supplier, They work and I'm abled to receive quite a few OTA Channels. I was told that overtime this unit will lose its Boosting Power so that explains why I'm purchasing another one.

We have Rogers cable all through the house, but the one TV that was furthest away would never get certain stations. They would be all pixelated or I'd get a Rogers warning that the station was temporarily unavailable even though it was coming in on other TV's. There is a Rogers booster right at the point where it enters the house, but obviously not enough to reach the furthest room. Plus there was very old cable running under the floor to that room which I can't get to.I took chance on this product as a last hope and it worked! I actually installed it at the end or the line right by the TV, which I didn't think would work but it did. Definitely recommend it and it's better than running new cable!

I chose this distribution amp based on good reviews. It comes in a box with the amp, a power supply, and an optional power injector. It does the job. It doesn't have gimmicky options to turn up, down, on, or off. You will need a coax cable to connect the power supply to the amp. If you need the power injector (for example, if you mount the amp outside), you will need several coax cables.

I have long runs of coaxial cable from the satellite receiver to two other TVs in the house and experience some signal and picture quality loss.. I installed this amp about 35' from the receiver where the cable splits to go to each secondary TV. I have electrical power available at that location in the cellar. There is a slight improvement in picture quality at both TVs, but not as much as I dared to hope for. Perhaps I'd get more gain by locating the amp closer to the satellite receiver? One small issue is that when power to the amp is lost, so is most of the signal and picture. So, in a power outage when I may want to run the kitchen TV off a portable generator to pick up local stations off antenna, I'd have to disconnect and bypass the amp. Luckily extended outages are rare.

My setup is as follows : DBA External Antenna -> Winegard HDA-100 ->Phillips Splitter ->SilconDust HD Homerun Prime -> Router - MediaCenter -> TV. Before adding the HDA-100 to this lineup, signal strength was very unstable, expecially for 8.x (uhf?) channels in the Houston/Katy area. This was recommended to my colleague by Dennys Antenna Service and my colleague, in turn, recommended this to me. So, if you value word of mouth like I do, then, this is the one.

When we added satellite coax to our second floor bedrooms using a four way splitter in our attic, the picture got a little fuzzy/snowy. (This splitter was in addition to an 8 way splitter we already had in our basement for the first floor rooms. A friend who has a sound system and satellite installation business was shocked we had decent picture with the 8 way splitter, never mind adding an additional 4 way splitter to the system.) He told me to buy the Winegard HDA-100 amplifer, not the "cheap kind." We installed it, and it solved our picture degredation problems 100%. We are very pleased with this product. It was very easy install.

This amplifier was easy to install and seems to work well. I have it placed next to my antenna and it drives about 200 ft of RG6 cable until it gets to two televisions. I didn't give it five stars only because I'm stingy with maximum ratings. It could probably do something better, but I can't think of what that would be.This device stays plugged in all of the time, so I was concerned about the amount of power it consumes. I can't plug it into a switched outlet or power strip and then switch it off when no TV is turned on, because my DVR may record at any time. The given specs tell how much power comes out of the power supply, but not how much goes in. The power consumed from the wall outlet is what you will pay for. Now that I have the amplifier, I can read that the power supply is labeled "Input: 120V AC 60 Hz 65 mA" . That's a maximum power consumption of 120 VAC x 65 mA = 7.8 W. Based on the current drawn by the amp, the wall power under typical use might be closer to 5.1 W. Either number seems reasonable to me.
