This instrument is of heavier/better quality than others for sale here. It does an excellent job on scaling my dogs' teeth.

This is more for a professional. It is extremely sharp and I am not adept enough to feel comfortable using it. It is well constructed and has a nice "grip". I'm a senior and my grasp isn't quite as secure as it used to be and I felt I needed to leave this device up to my dentist. If you know what you are doing, this would be an excellent piece and I feel worth the cost.
