I ordered this to use as a food topper because I like adding a little something different to my dog’s food. She gobbled it right up. I was happy because she hadn’t eaten that great in the last couple of days. She’s finicky, but she ate this right up quickly. This seems to be a quality product. It is packaged in quality packaging. The bag it is in is thick and it zips tightly so that it will keep the topper fresh. The powder is super fine, which makes it easy to spread without using a lot of it. I’m going to use it as a food topper and doing that, I think it’s a great value. If you mix it up for a lick mat, the bag says it’s 10 servings and if this was only 10 servings, I wouldn’t be as thrilled about the price. It’s not expensive though. My dog absolutely loved this mix. I followed the instructions but ended up with a thicker consistency, so I just added more water to make it easier to spread. I froze it and gave it to my dog - she spent a solid 45 min to an hour working on it. She did nap afterwards, but I can't confirm if it was from the "calming" mix or just from the naturally occurring calming effect that lick mats have on dogs in general. Overall really happy with it.

Mixed with water, this comes out to an almost yogurt like consistency. Typically, I use this as an additive to my pup's frozen treat mix for his Woof balls.Our go-to recipe is:In a gallon zip lock baggie, I add one can of pumpkin puree, half a large container of plain greek yogurt, half a jar of peanut butter (give or take, sometimes less), and now, two to three scoops of this.I squish the contents to mix it all together so it's creamy and easy to use.I then cut off the bottom corner of the ziploc to make it like a piping bagI squeeze the goo into the silicone molds for his treat ballsI freeze overnightThat's it! Easy peasy, and he absolutely LOVES it! This mixes in perfectly and gives it little purple spots (which ok, that isn't a big bonus for HIM, but I think it makes his treats look neat).We have also used it with the directions as-is for his lick mats, but we give those to him much less frequently than his frozies.

My small breed pup loves this LickMat LickMix. I recently bought some wet dog food that she doesn't like, and there's also some veggies that she used to like, but has stopped eating lately.When I sprinkle a little bit of this LickMix powder on top, she gobbles everything up. She loves the bacon cheese flavor.I've also sprinkled it on whatever food she leaves on her lick mat, added a small amount of water, and she likes it that way as well.The amount recommended on the bag is, one tablespoon for 25 lbs. of weight, which contains 14.5 k/calories. She weighs 10 lbs., so I give her about 1/3 teas. per day.The package contains 20 tablespoons, so it works out to be a good value for a small dog.I like that it's healthy for her, made with clean ingredients, high in protein, and the price is fair for the 5.5 ounce bag.

First I want to point out that this is designed as a filler for a mat that this company sells. It can also be used as a food topping and to make frozen treats. Personally, I just used it with the licking mat and can say that my dogs absolutely loved it. Apparently it tastes so good that my dachshund was willing to keep working on this mat for an entire hour trying to get every last bit of it.It was easy to prepare. The mat contains a central mixing area and so that's what I used to mix it in, but it would be so easy to prepare this in any small bowl. You use equal parts water and mix, stir them together well to get a runny, smooth sort of a gravy. At that point, I spread it onto the mat. It was very easy to spread. In fact, I pulled my spatula a little hard and sprayed some of it onto my shirt. I would like to point out that I washed the shirt and there was no stain left behind, which is really great to know. After it was spread on the mat, I let it set up for around 5 minutes (long enough to go upstairs and change my shirt).I liked the finished result. It wasn't hard or anything, but there was nothing sloshing around or moving while I put it down for them. And clearly it smelled great for the dogs because they couldn't stand waiting for me to put it on the ground.The only complaint that I have is that it's really unclear how much product is actually in this bag. The product page says 25 servings. The bag says 10 servings. The specific mixing instructions say to mix 2 Tbsp and that gives you 10 servings. However, it also has a breakdown of how much to serve based on dog size.So, here's exactly what I determined. For a 25lb dog, you mix 1 Tbsp with 1 Tbsp of water. I have two dogs that combined weigh about 25 lbs. So, I mixed up 1 Tbps worth. One dog gave up in 5 minutes, but that was enough mix to keep my other dog contentedly playing and licking this for an entire hour. Clearly, it stretches pretty far. And, as for the contents of the bag, I counted. There were 17 Tbsp in the bag I received.In my opinion, this is a fantastic value. $14.99 for 17 servings breaks down to less than a dollar per use and hours and hours of play / lick time for my dog. I will absolutely be buying more of this mix.I would also like to say that I waited a couple days before writing this review to be sure that my dog didn't suffer any ill effects from ingesting this. (One can never be too safe.) They are both terrific. No signs of upset stomach or any other problems. I feel super confident feeding this to my dogs.
