No recomendado dado mi caso particular.

Arms it's self and alarms while in the panniers. Even just picking it up makes it arm itself. (yes I've cleaned the lens and mirror) Just put a new battery in at 5 months old. If it doesn't improve it's going back. My previous yellow disk lock by xena was great, this is very disappointing.Edit:It's now behaving itself with the new battery. So far so good.Edit again:Sent it back, I tried but it's no good.

Good simple to fit lock but does sometimes go off if your not quick in fitting. No problems with it and used all the time on my BMW K1300s front disks.

Got this unit for big motorcycle trip (over 6,000 miles in all). Was worried about parking outside hotel rooms on the road. And the nut of it is this: If you want to sleep good at night knowing that nobody can screw with your bike absent you knowing about it, then buy this. I used it several times on this trip and never got a false alarm. It is sensitive and it's a bit of an exercise getting the key in it and unlocked before setting off the alarm, but after a few times it comes easier (and if you do set off the alarm, it won't be but for a few seconds). But that's nit pick stuff compared to my ability to sleep knowing that the bike could not be tampered with absent a siren sounding to wake me and my good friend Glock up. FYI - My Xena showed up with the battery pre-installed, ready to use. Also FYI - One of my buddies on this trip had the exact same Xena (used on his Triumph Tiger and 2012 Harley Ultra Limited), also no false alarms. Highly recommend. 2015 Harley Ultra Limited - fits perfect on either front brake disc.

This is an awesome little lock. And I use the term "little" lightly. I got this before going to the MotoGP race at Austin this past year for extra bike security. It has a good weight to it and locks solidly. The alarm isn't to terribly loud, maybe my battery got old from sitting in the package before I got it but I'm sure it will deter thiefs after hearing it. Definitely better than my little Kryptonite disc lock (That I now use on my rear disc). It is actually very sensitive, I was putting the cover on my bike and it went off. So if you keep a cover on your bike and someone jostles your bike around to take the cover off I'm sure it'll set it off. I also dropped it on concrete from about 5 feet up when I was bringing a bunch of stuff into my apartment once and it only got a light scratch on it. I highly recommend this or any of the alarmed XENA disc locks. If you keep your bike outside combine this with another disc lock, a chain and a cover and you'll be all set for security.

This works and it sure makes me feel secure. The lock mechanism is hard to operate. The shaft sticks sometimes on the caliper and is hard to close. Not to mention the alarm arms itself before you can get it shut as soon as the eye is blocked. Also it is lefty tightey rightey loosey and counter intuitive. It may be really loud when next to it but not all that loud from in the house. This is the best alarm on the market i think but still has flaws.

Just arrived yesterday, and I expected a much smaller and dinkier piece, so I was in for a surprie when I opened the mailer to see this monster. It's big. It's heavy. Nobody is cutting it off with anything short of a blowtorch. Is it sensitive? Sure...it's VERY sensitive, but that's what I got it for. I put a cup of coffee on the table about a foot from it and it went off. I like that. Ok, so when you hear all the complaining about this thing screaming, just know they are only half correct. Why half? Because it does scream after the battery is installed, and it does scream if you bump it, but that scraming only lasts for 10 seconds before it resets and goes quiet. It's not going to just go on screaming all night or until the battery dies, waking up your entire block. However, it does not reset so long at it detects any movement, in which case it continues its 120db screech indefinitely. How loud is it? Is it really as loud as all that? YES. Keep it balled up in your nand if it goes off when not locked onto your brake disc, because you can muffle it quite a bit that way (impossible to do this once it's on the disc, due to the angle, so don't worry a thief can simply put a hand over it and shut it up). Did I mention that it's big? Because it IS. Put it in a sock and you'd stand a fair chance against a hungry bear if one jumped out at you as you were securing your bike for the night. Would I get the regular, non alarmed version of a brake disc? Never. Why? Because if you do get one, the day WILL come where you ride off with it still clamped onto your motorcycle, and you'll break all sorts of things. The alarm versions scream at you the minute you grab your handlebars, and youll never have to worry about riding off with one still attached. Trust me, as much as you think you won't forget you put it on the night before...you WILL. So, get the alarm version. This thing blends right in to your wheel, so anybody thinking they're going to take your bike is in for a rude awakening once this thing activates. Only the most dedicated will bother with your machine with something like this installed.

After reading various web reviews of this product I was assuming that I would have to dismantle it to put in the battery when it arrived. So, when the lock arrive I was angry... very angry because the battery was not in the packaging. Ooops, the newer models come with the battery already installed in the lock.Anyway, I had also been reading again, from various web reviews, that the process is somewhat complicated and tricky to replace the battery. So, even though the battery had already been installed at the factory I opened up the unit pulled the battery out and put it back in and sealed the lock. Elapsed time: 4 minutes. At least with the newer locks, if you can tie your shoes you can easily replace the battery after about 8 months as stated in the accompanying instructions. It appears that the battery is always operating as the optics keep looking for your brake disc which causes the unit to arm. So even if you use the lock infrequently the battery should still probably be replace after 8 months.Tried the lock on my Kawasaki Sport Touring bike. Shook the bike slightly... yep, the alarm is LOUD! My bike is a little safer now.The lock is very solid and heavy. So it has a second unadvertised use. If you forget to put the lock on your bike and you look out of the window and see some nut trying to steal your bike pick up the lock and throw it at him. Once he regains consciousness, if he does, that will be a reformed motorcycle thief.
