I have both the 8x42 and 12x50 versions of this monocular. I like the fact that the minimum focal distance is around 6 feet. My only issue with the 12x50 monocular is that the objective lens cap is very loose and can fall off easily. I can easily fix this issue, so it's really a minor issue. Optically, I really like this product and highly recommend it.

I bought this product to view wildlife on my vacation to Alaska. Very convenient. Great for viewing sea otters, orcas, sea lions, etc. Easy to use, good magnification. Worked well for my purposes.

I bought this monocular for observing backyard birds and wildlife, for which it is well-suited. But I also travel as an amateur astronomer and have used this monocular as an alternative to hauling heavy 10x50 binoculars. If you have a steady hand, this monocular does a reasonably good job for observing larger night sky objects such as the Pleiades, the Hyades, the Andromeda Galaxy and the Moon. While it is not designed as an astronomical telescope, this monocular has sufficient resolution and brightness to be used for casual stargazing, which really makes it a great all-purpose instrument at a very reasonable price.

I purchased this because I see with only one eye. I can still see better wifh my binoculars, they have a wider field of vision. I’m. a birder and will use them on occasion.

There was a delay in my order, so I want to an outdoor store and purchased a different one. That one cost over $110 (versus $75 for this one, and, when this one arrived, I was shocked to see how much better the clarity was, as well as the magnification being stronger. Not only that, the adjustment on this item is much finer, contributing to the clarity of the image - and the one from the store even lacked lens caps! Most importantly, the image from this monocular is just much better.

I have finally found a monocular that works with my eyes. I have severe astigmatism and need to wear glasses to see. I have never been able to use a binoculars or monoculars with any satisfaction--always struggling to focus properly for my eyes. I read an article on using binoculars or monoculars with eyeglasses and found that I really need to be concerned with finding a monoculars or binoculars with at least a 16 mm long eye relief. This XGazer Optics monoculars has an ideal 18.4 eye-relief with twist up eye cup. It solved my problem. I am extremely satisfied with the product and looking forward towards my Alaska trip later this year when I will be using it every day.

I love this monocular. I bought it to use while hunting, because it is small enough to fit in my coat pocket but still large enough to be easy to handle. I wear glasses, so the retractable eyepiece is nice. The field of view is large enough to make it pretty easy to pick up the object I am wanting to look at, and the 8 power is great to bring it up close enough to look at closely but still small enough to not be hard to hold steady. The image is clear with no distortion around the edges. The focus adjustment is easy to use with one hand. All in all, I am very pleased with it.

Great monocular, I was not disappointed. The 50 mm objective lens gives a bright view, and the focus knob is smooth and easy to dial in. Close focus range is impressive. 10x power is about the highest you can use without a tripod. View is clean and steady. It's a keeper.
