Be mindful of the screw size in the top of your umbrella. The enclosed screw didn’t fit ours but we rummaged through our collection of random screws and found one that works. The first 2 photos depict the solar part that screws onto the base. However the Chinese didn’t groove the other side of the flange (2nd photo) so there’s nothing that will hold it securely into the base (3rd photo)when turned. I used my Dremel tool to create the groove, which saved me from returning product. Pretty big flaw… I wouldn’t be sure I’d have the same problem if I returned it and reordered another one.Progress : the instructions say to remove the canopy. I don’t see where that is necessary at all. Yes, you can take the ends off but not the top because the solar cell has to go ON TOP of the canopy peak. Also, the clamps didn’t fit my wooden ribs. Zip ties easier and just as attractive.Update- the company contacted me in response to my earlier review. I discovered some user error on my end and deleted earlier correlating comments. I was very pleased with their customer service!

This umbrella has aluminum square poles (rectangular). It mimics wooden umbrellas. We purchased it from Sam's club a few years back, it's very nice and heavy duty... But being a few years back, umbrellas back then didn't have lights. Gave these a try with the idea of having to improvise... But luckily the clips snapped right in and tightly secured the lights, except for 1 spot, where the supporting brackets fold. There I used double sided tape. I drilled a pilot hole in the top which is plastic and mounted the solar panel there.The séc worked great for me and the light is warm in the 2700k range.

I have two umbrellas rigged with these. So far, so good.I looked at a lot of what appeared to be the same product, but from different sellers touting their own, no-name Chinese brand, but ended up with the Yescom ones because they were a bit less expensive. I got the classier-looking warm white lights over the stark, cool white look.Even though it says they are for a wooden umbrella, it's the only one that I could find with clips that fit umbrella ribs having a rectangular cross section, so I thought I'd give them a try. Worst case, I would have to use to use cable ties, but the clips fit perfectly and hold the lights perfectly in line.Other reviewers complained that the rectangular clips did not fit their "rounded" ribs - well, of course not. They probably needed the version that ships with the elliptical clips to fit those types of umbrella ribs.My only complaint is that the clips are brown and not black, but not a biggie.I ditched the screw that came with, and used a 1/4 x 20 stainless steel panhead screw/lockwasher, which is the threading that my original finial used, so the solar box fit perfectly, too.It was a bit like wrestling an octopus (having to use tie wraps would have been a bear), but the branches are all numbered, so I simply attached the end of each "arm" about mid-way down a rib just to organize and hold them up, then clipped the lights all the way around at the top. Once I felt that I had the right spacing and slack around all the ribs at the top, I then went down each rib clipping all the lights in place, snugging the wire spacing as I went. It took a little back and forth, but after I got the hang of it, they went on pretty quickly. Rigging the second umbrella was much easier after having figured it out on the first one.Not a product issue, but I wish the cable connector to the solar box would have fit through the canopy hole where the finial post goes through, for a cleaner installation. As it is, it has to run down and go through the vent flap, so the wire is exposed for a bit on the outside of the canopy.Happy so far. Let's see if they last the summer.

I love these warm white lights for my outdoor umbrella. The brightness is just right when you also use candles on the table. They are a pain to install, and the clips that came with this pack were too loose on my umbrella ribs, so I used tape to keep in place. Once installed though, they are easy to switch on and off and have never had an issue with them not being charged as long as the solar panel is in the sun.

So far 5 stars for ease of install and quality of parts. Turned the umbrella upside down on the lawn and using the clever rib clips which do a great job of holding the lights in place and keeping the wires out of harms way. Easy one screw mount for the battery/solar charger and all wires are of adequate length for most umbrellas. I will follow up if possible after a year of Vegas sun to see how it all holds up.

Beautiful lights....HELL to assemble. They really go to a wooden umbrella as states. Many reviews stated they worked on the aluminum umbrella, sure, with a whole lot of rigging. I thought I read these lights are interchangeable on different types of umbrellas. The square clips didn't fit my rounded "spokes", so used 2 rolls of electrical tape to get a clean, neat finished look attaching the lights. Not to mention creatively attaching the solar plate on top of a hollow aluminum tube. Oh well, 5 hrs later it's up and working wonderfully now. I charged the solar panel several days prior, until I had the time to put it all together. Looks very nice. Glad it's done, and I love having the lights.

Didn't even make the first day when we went to close our umbrella the electrical wires ripped apart. Junk!

Works great (so far) but the plastic clips that hold the lights to the umbrella ribs were slightly undersized so they're not securely clipped around the ribs.
