I had a polyurethane hose fail about 6 inches from the end. Previous fitting was crimped on with a ferrule. I didn't have much luck determining the right size of a ferrule to try to re-crimp it. Or just using a small hose clamp, which wouldn't have been pretty. Found this. This allowed me to quickly and easily repair my hose. The nut is integrated into the strain relief. Slid this assembly onto the hose, slid the end of the hose over the barb, and tightened the nut. Back in business in a minute or so. The male threaded part does swivel with respect to the hose, but it is a little stiff. Hopefully it will loosen with use.
