Bought these to keep in the tool box to use for general purpose thread protectors. Have used them on two projects so far with very good results (see photos). I used them on a saddle bag conversion where I had four screws inside the bags exposing about 70mm of each screw. That could have scratched contents as well as hands, so I used four of these caps to safely cover the exposed threads which made digging around in the bags much more comfortable. I also used one to tightly cover an unused electrical connector in my Jeep. It was just slightly smaller than the connector, but with a twisting motion and a little pressure it slid on easily.As some have noted, these caps are vinyl and not rubber, which is not a problem for me and, probably, more preferred. The formulation seems similar to heavy electrical tape so they have a good bit of stretch and are likely moderately resistant to heat. So far I'm pretty comfortable using them in any environment where I would use electrical tape. Overall they work very well and leave a clean, professional look to your installations.

Got these originally to hide some poorly installed 'thunder studs' on our front hand railing. Then I used a couple to cover the ends of a dowel we having for pushing in reset buttons, etc. Then I used some more to cover the raw ends of those skinny green garden tube you use to tie plants to. I snapped one of the tubes in half to use to stake up a plant in a pot and covered the unsightly exposed ends with these caps. I'm sure there's other uses I will use then for!

Sizes shown are not accurate as to what the real sizes are and there is conflicting information in the title and description. Example: Size says 1/4 size but it's actually 9/32 and , 3/8 is more like 13/32. If their not accurate in inches, do not put the sizes in inches. Would not fit any of the wire racks I purchased them for (very loose and would easily fall off).

Read all of the description. The intro says 1/4 inch to what ever. a 1/4 inch is 6.35 mm. The detail description below says they are 7mm. Way too big for a 1/4 inch rod.

Bought these to use the 1/4 inch size as tip protectors for Traditional Archery Longbow. They fit perfectly and the red color matches the red fiberglass backing on my Longbow. The plastic is stretchy and so fits tight on the bottom limb tip and does not interfere with the string. Just Perfect!
