This was a gateway mill for me. I have back issues and spending time bent over (my set up) was painful, though the mill works exactly as described. If you are looking for an inexpensive start to milling lumber, that is easy to set up, and will get the job done with little to learn, this is a great investment.Easy to set up and durable, Well thought out. You may want to add the pulley system to save yourself some back aches though. I still use this on logs too large for my portable mill.

I love how you can adjust this mill into different sizes—super handy depending on the job. It's surprisingly stable and made my first milling project go smoother than expected. The guide system adds precision. Definitely worth the price for DIY woodworkers and hobbyists.

This mill is well made, with uniform parts that fit together and work. It works as you would expect. It has two design deficiencies. First, it is almost impossible to set the cut depth, because you have two vertical supports that must be set, both of which use a clamp to fix the depth. They stick with the slightest tilt, and adjusting two at once is virtually impossible. I had to go into my shop and cut two boards of the exact thickness I wanted, set them across the saw bar/chain, and way loosen the clamps, let the mill drop onto those, and then tighten the clamps. Second, the thumb knobs on the upper bar repeatedly work loose from the vibration. These should be nuts like the other settings so they can be tightened with a wrench.---I used the starting guide with two 8ft 2x4s and and found it easy to set up and effective. I had to sit across the log as the cuts progressed, so the wedges were essential to keep from binding the saw.---Mounting the saw into the mill requires about 2 inches on the engine side, and four inches on the tip side. So even removing the dogs from the saw, my 22inch saw maxes out on a 16 inch log.

Pros- light weight easy to assemble, makes nice flat cuts the included wedges are a must with thicker slabs to prevent the chain from getting pinched. to me the quality surpassed the price and at this point I would recommend this mill for someone just getting started with chainsaw milling.Mixed review on the tool kit, the screws, level, and wedges are nice to get started quickly, the brackets for mounting 2x4 lumber on doesn't have enough rise above the log to clear the boards from the logs. expect to have to chop out or trim off any bark, nubs from lims or raised defects. After milling a few logs, I'm looking to get the steel rales that you hammer onto the logs and have multiple leveling points. It's hard enough these days to find an 8 ft 2x4 that is straight and near impossible to find one that is 12-14 feet.Cons - after after adding the extensions it was deceptive in that my 28 inch bar was to short to fit with all the extensions (36 inches ) with the dogs on my saw. the set screws will round out easily if you use lock tight to hold them in place which is needed because they want to vibrate loose when in use. I've lost 3 nuts off the bottom (only used as a second lock nut) and one of the screws for the crossbar for the handle. (I didn't have lock tight on those items).

This was a sturdy, reliable tool for turning logs into usable lumber. It attaches easily to most chainsaws and delivers consistent, clean cuts with adjustable thickness control. While it can be demanding on larger logs, it’s a cost-effective solution for small-scale milling. Ideal for DIYers, it offers great results without the expense of a full sawmill. Only thing I would say… it took me at least an hour to understand how it works and put it together.

Arrived quickly; I assembled for full 36” in less than 1 hour. Several set screws were in bottom of box, so unpack carefully. Allow some leeway with assembly instruction language and study the pictures. Ensure all nuts, set screws, etc. are firmly tightened, as the chainsaw vibration is severe.I powered it with a 3.75 hp saw with a 36 inch bar and chain. My first cut with this mill was an approximate 16 inch wide slab from a 32 inch diameter short leaf pine that fell across my driveway during Hurricane Milton. This Zozen Chainsaw Mill was easy to use, is sturdy and made of good material. it has value commensurate with its price; it should aid in cutting the rest of this log, and many more logs into boards in the yeas to come.

It went together quickly. All the parts were in the package but one of the adjustment bolts was bent. I’ll need to get a replacement. The mill is light and easy to move.
