I think the photos pretty much speak for themselves. Plus the latch doesn’t line up with the lock ring so I have to push the latch over when shutting it or it will hit the lock ringStay away from this ammo can. I’ve bought many different ammo cans from Amazon(locking and not locking) and they have all been in excellent condition with excellent build quality. So pretty much any other choice will probably be better than this.

While it isn't as secure as an actual safe, this locking ammo can is a nice way to secure something like personal petty cash, or prescription drugs, against temptation from roommates or their shady friends, while remaining unobtrusively accessible. Plenty of room for a handgun and some actual ammo, too!It won't resist a determined effort to open it, and it can be easily grabbed and taken elsewhere by thieves, but for an elevated security step short of a full-sized concrete and steel safe, it's a decent compromise.

Do not trust the plastic ammo containers to protect and to secure your ammo. I can easily break into it with just a butter knife with one hand.Get this metal ammo can with the portable dehumidifier and a good combination lock. Most key locks uses a wafer lock that are easy to pick and get open. This will keep your ammo safe, dry, and secure from long-term storage. This ammo container can easily hold probably 3k rounds of 9mm… but wouldn’t recommend it just because of how heavy it would be. haha It will have a funk rubber smell, but eventually the smell will go away.Overall, I am impressed and only have nice things to say about it other than I wish it would somehow make ammo weigh less. Haha

I like the size and how easily you can arrange your ammo. I have 9mm and .380ACP and the boxes fit perfectly. I have not tried to put any loose ammo in there like i’ve seen other reviewers do but that’s because I have different calibers. I threw in some silica packages to keep moisture out and it works great. I haven’t gotten a lock for it yet but I think that is a very useful feature, especially if you want to add extra security. As a matter of suggestion get the 50 caliber size instead of the smaller one. You will be glad you did in the future. I am seriously considering getting a second one and testing out its stacking capabilities. All in all I am very satisfied with this purchase.

Has a well made locking mechanism. No need to try drill a hole in the can attempting to install a locking mechanism. I did not have much luck with the four cans I had prior. Was very hard to get the hole lined up. These cans come ready to go.Bought four more... working out great.Update 4/3/21 - Ordered two more. Received quickly and in perfect condition.

This is an excellent ammo can to store ammunition or other valuables in. I was able to lock it with a Master Lock 178D combination padlock and the Master Lock #40 discus padlock...on a side note, the ammo can does have a noticeable unpleasant odor perhaps due to the rubber seal...nevertheless, I am not disappointed and I am planning to purchase another can very soon

This is a well made copy of the GI .50 Cal Ammo Can. From what I observed the welds are identical in placement and number and the rubber insert appears to be of good quality and function. The quality of the paint is exceptional for a knock off. Not really important but I wish the staple that you put your lock thru was a little bit thicker...not really important though because a bolt cutter or an angle grinder would make short work of any locking ammo can anyway!

This thing is great, it's solid as heck, the top plate seems twice as thick as the rest of it. Fits a thick lock no problem. But upon first opening the odor of chemical/rubber/funk was very strong. I assume this smell is coming from the rubber gasket on the lid, I'm going to leave it open for a while but it seems to build up in the can which worries me because it's going to make everything funky inside. Is there some way to remove this smell besides tearing out the gasket?
