With almost half a century of experience in construction and repairs, I've always found Moen valves to be hassle-free when it comes to installation and upkeep. Recently, I needed a new 1222 cartridge and decided to add it to my Supplyhouse.com order (which I highly recommend). Despite the constant dripping with the original part, this aftermarket $14 replacement outperformed the $48 Moen alternative. It's quite disappointing when the cheaper option proves to be superior. Needless to say, I won't hesitate to choose this aftermarket cartridge for my future needs.

I purchased a replacement cartridge at Home Depot, but it was incredibly tight, causing the rubber gaskets to tear during installation. Unfortunately, due to its condition, I couldn't return it. However, I decided to give it another shot and ordered one from Amazon. To my delight, it arrived the next day. The Amazon cartridge slid in effortlessly and worked like a charm. I am thrilled with this buy and would not hesitate to purchase it again in the future.

Cleaning the valve body with an acidic shower cleaner post-removal rid it of any stubborn calcium and lime deposits.
