I had this dog whistle attached to my key chain since I was using it for my dog. The problem was I lost the bottom part of the whistle because it became loose and unscrewed itself.

I have never tried using a dog whistle before... but I thought it might be something to try out. My Brittany tends to get tunnel vision very easily and it is hard to snap him out of it. I have only begun training with this, so I can't speak to whether or not it is effective, but I can say that it definitely gets his attention. I could see this being an effective tool, and my hope is that he can hear this a little bit better when out in the field hunting than my shouting voice. If so, my vocal chords would sure appreciate it... Time will tell, but for how cheap it is, I am pretty optimistic. I also appreciate that I can hang this from just about anything (like my duck call lanyard).

Ok, I'll admit that I thought this would be so high pitched that I wouldn't hear it. The first line of the description says it's inaudible to humans. It's just very high pitched, and everyone can hear it. The pitch is adjustable, but it won't go so high that it's inaudible. It's also pretty small, so use a lanyard or string keeper to prevent loss. You only put the small front part of the whistle on your lips. It's easy to put it in too deep, and there's no way to hold it with your teeth like a sports whistle. At least my dogs pay it some attention as it's a new sound. I have to teach them what it means before they get bored of hearing it.
