About magnetic arc extinguishing
- AC circuit breakers cannot be used for DC, whereas DC circuit breakers can be used for AC.
- AC has a zero point, while DC does not, so DC arcs are more difficult to extinguish than AC arcs
- DC miniature circuit breakers are equipped with a magnetic field system under the breaking contact that pulls the arc into the interrupter chamber to assist in extinguishing the arc.

These kind of breakers are really difficult to find in stores. They are really easy to install by wiring than bus bars. Good value for money.

I needed to add a few circuits to my toy hauler for conveniences (dishwasher, etc.) and thought I'd try out these miniature circuit breakers. They fit nicely onto a DIN rail in a small waterproof box that I picked up separately. They hold securely to the rail, and the wires clamp securely in the terminals. A quick (safe) test showed me that they do indeed trip when shorted. Using these breakers let me assemble a tiny box in my RV to save as much space as possible, and make the project safe and professional looking.
