They tank paint off just like advertised, be sure to check you rpms so you don’t get it too hot or results will differ.

Purchased to strip old equipment and tools. Did the job quicker and better than I was expecting. Definitely would purchase again.

I like the quick removal and polishing power with little pressure with these discs. The larger size lasts longer and the aggressive design and nature of the media didn’t clog easily with the material I was removing for my project. These are the right disc for my project.

I ordered these to use on an older Craftsman rotary grinder. They fit perfectly. The 6-pack makes it very convenient to have spares around when the odd job comes up to strip paint or rust off metal parts. These abrade as they strip, so wear safety goggles! At a cost of less than $3 each, they are a good value.

Wire wheels are great for loose rust, flap wheels are good for removing some metal, but for paint (especially in tough areas) these are great. I tested these out on a 36-year-old 60" mower deck for a tractor that had rust under the paint and needed to be stripped back to bare metal to prime and paint. I used several wire wheels to remove big chunks of loose paint and rust, but for the areas with still-adhered paint, wire wheels barely touched it, while flap wheels loaded up with paint in seconds. These are abrasive enough to eat the paint, but they don't get loaded up and lose effectiveness easily. They're also flexible enough to push into and conform to various tighter areas. I still needed my little 2" discs on air grinders for super-tight spots, but these saved quite a bit of time and frustration. In the end I used up one of these stripper wheels in the process, mainly because I pushed it into spots where it caught on metal edges and ripped away chunks. Very useful wheel to have for your angle grinders.

Tested all three colors, and there seems to be a definite grit difference between them, but I can't find any specs on what those grits are. All I can tell is there's a difference between them. No grit marking on wheels, or in the product listing. But they do strip the surface well, I just wish I didn't have to guess at which one is which.

I use so many 4.5" strip discs it's crazy, but I hadn't run into the 5" variety before. I'm pleased that I did though, because when you're working flat surfaces, that additional 1/2" helps make quicker work of it, even if it's just a bit. As usual, the colors are not explained, but I think the blue is the most aggressive, purple next, finally black. That being said, I haven't ever noticed much difference between the colors from any brand, so don't get hung up on that. These are perfect for cleaning metal of rust, corrosion or paint without gouging and creating deep scratches in the metal. The wear out relatively quickly, but nothing out of the norm. I'd say you could probably get a few medium sized projects complete before you need to replace them. I'm pleased, especially with the cost not being any higher per wheel than most 4.5" strip discs.
