About this item

  • 【Quite Different】Our Mini Media Converter is quite different from the regular media converter that needs to obtain power from DC power adapter, it can power on via various IEEE 802.3af/at/bt PoE PSE equipment; The Mini Media Converter features two kinds of power input system designs (IEEE 802.3af/at/bt 48V~54V DC in-line power and optional 5~15V DC input) incorporated into customer’s network to enhance system reliability and uptime
  • 【Reliable Auto Negotiation Gigabit Connection】 10/100/1000Mbps Auto-Negotiation RJ45 Port supports Auto-MDI/MDIX Crossover and Half-Duplex / Full-Duplex Transfer Mode, bridging different network speeds and devices to a Gigabit fiber network
  • 【Product List】 2x Ethernet Media Converter, 1x DC Power Adapter, 1x Product Manual, 2x module. This product is adopted mature technology and open network standards, it has strong resistance to electromagnetic interference and can work stably and reliably for a long time
  • 【Plug and Play】Simply plug in optical port and RJ45 port, and it will work immediatelly; No software installation or configuration required; Supports jumbo frame size 9K bytes; Supports working temperature range from 0°C to 45°C
  • 【Smart Management】 2x Single-mode LC fiber Optical Port, 1.25Gbps, 1310nm TX/1550nm RX, support Gigabit Ethernet, suitable for long distance transmission, extend fiber distance to 20km; With Digital Diagnostic Monitoring

Product Description:
Micro Mini 802.3af/at/bt PoE+ PD 10/100/1000BASE-T to 100Fx/1000BASE-X SFP.
Media Converter equipped with a convenient and cost-effective 802.3af/at/bt PoE power injection solution.
The Gigabit Fiber Media Converter provides a cost-effective and dependable solution for shorter range network extensions. The Gigabit fiber media converter provides a cost-efficient way to connect your Ethernet network to remote devices over a fiber backbone.
It features an open SFP slot that lets you choose the Gigabit SFP that best suits your fiber connection mode (single / multimode) and distance requirements.
The network device(IP camera, wireless AP, VolP phone etc) with RJ45 interface is connected to RJ45 jack of media converter through twisted-pair. And the optical fiber is connected to LC fiber interface of the optical transceivermodule. Then connect the AC power adaptor, the media converter will work.
Product Feature:
Easy to Set up: Configure the adapter's settings using operating system tools. Standalone design with simple plug-and-play set-up.
Small and Silent: Compact size provide more flexible installation options. Adapter is pocketable and uses no fan, perfect for use in noise-sensitive environments.
The media converter has a durable metal housing, engineered to deliver long-lasting performance.
Versatile Connections for Broad Compatibility:Fully compatible with 10/100/1000Base-T Ethernet networks, the fiber media converter supports auto negotiation to bridge different speed networks and devices to a Gigabit fiber network.
6KV Lightning protection.Strong anti-interference ability.High-speed and stability signal conversion.
Operating temperature: 0°C to 45°C(0℉-113℉).

I've been working with TCP/IP professionally, and ethernet non-professionally for 25+ years - but have had no direct contact with fiber. I have some runs I want to set up at home - long outdoor runs, without remote power - I don't want to have to worry about moisture, lighting following it home, etc.I started with MMF - even reviewed some media converters on here that I tried out - and it worked fine for the first run. To be honest, I kinda jumped in without doing all of the requisite research - I've since learned that single mode is the better fit for my applications, so I got these for a subsequent run. These are a bit more to set up, but nothing terribly complex or challenging.I really like that they can run off of PoE, and that I can power the remote end off of 5VDC. Perfect for a solar/wind powered weather station, or a solar powered driveway sensor, etc.

This is much smaller than other Media converters and can use power over ethernet. I tested it with some common cisco type 1.25G SFP modules as well Ciena and 1.25G BiDi modules from, Mikrotik and Ubiquiti and they all worked without complaint. They could have saved some cost by leaving out the 5V USB Type-A and Type-A to Type-C cable. The media converter worked well all the 1.25G modules I tested. I wish there was a way to get DMM data off the SFP modules but as with all media converter of this type you can't. Still, I've been looking for a small PoE powered media converter for a number of years and this one fits the bill. It's a great toolbag item if you work with fiber.

My garage is 414' cable feet away from my house and the two are connected with a 2" conduit. I have a CAT5e connecting the two, and I've had "internet", but it constantly bounces. I finally got fed up with it and pulled an 8-strand fiber.I bought two different media converter kits and these are -- by far -- my favorite. They're smaller, they only need a single strand, and connection has been rock solid for 24 hours... not a single drop. The best part is they're powered by USB-C. While the kit includes two USB-C bricks, I don't need them. I have UPS' on both sides that have USB-C on the front covers.
