I've had this thing for almost 2 years now and used it 3 times.First time (Almost 2 years ago) it gave me some readings, just enough to understand whats wrongSecond time (Juts over a year ago) I had so many problems getting a accurate reading that I thought it was meThird time (Just hours ago) I couldn't get any real reading on it at all. The gauges move but the reading is so sporadic that it tells me the engine has no cylinder leak but when I repeat the test in the same cylinder just seconds apart it tells me it has major problems in the cylinder. When I tried another cylinder it repeatedly told me it has less than 10% leak but you can hear lots of air coming out of the throttle body and exhaust, way more than 10%. More like 50% if not higher

Why pay more for a Cylinder Leak Detector elsewhere? This was a quality product which I used to test for compression leakage on my 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i... (minimal with over 160,000 miles) ;-) Now I have peace of mind that I can spend more $$$ on maintaining the car without worry of having to junk it because it would cost more than the car is worth to rebuild the engine. This ABN Cylinder Leak Detector & Engine Compression Tester Kit was well worth the investment!

Works just as good as a very expensive tester. It’s not a tool I use constantly but for the times I do need it, this gets the job done. Easy to use and fits almost every motor I work on. I do wish they included different air coupler fittings but it’s a minor complaint.

I don't recommend trying to remove the air chuck fitting from this gauge if you need to adapt to the other style like I had to do. I tried to at first by using a bench vice and a rag against the plastic regulator body with no more than firm pressure from the vice. I used a 9/16 deep socket and a 3/8 wrench attempting to loosen the air chuck to the point where if I pushed any further I felt the regulator body would be compromised by the force. Use a quick connect and the air chuck needed for your compressor to adapt, problem solved. It even fits nicely in the supplied cheaply made plastic case. I hope this helps! You get what you pay for so honestly I'm not surprised and this is to be expected for a light duty tool for home owner use. I grew up around SnapOn and Mac tools all my life but in some instances cheap for the desired use makes the most sense.Who knows, maybe this Chineseium product will surprise me in the coming years while I walk my neighborhood leak down testing all my neighbors cars! Joking........

As an ex-automobile mechanic, I have great confidence that this tool will help me diagnose (& ultimately repair) engines that exhibit cylinder leakage & loss of power. The ABN cylinder leak detector kit arrived undamaged and ready to use. I am pleased with the kit and the excellent price I paid for it.

*Requires 45-100 PSI to use - others have incorrectly stated you cannot exceed 20psi.*Cons: For whatever reason, the coupler did not fit in my air compressor hose. I clamped down (trying not to damage) and was able to remove the original coupler and replace with a standard one (already switched in photo). Calibration was a little confusing but very simple once you understand.Usage: The device easily screwed into my motorcycle's spark plug spot. Once I had my bike top dead center on the compression stroke I calibrated the gauge (use the psi control knob and adjust to 0 [takes about 15-20PSI]) and it worked perfectly. My top end showed no leakage. I did it a few times and when I was not top dead center the gauge showed 80-100% leakage and you could hear the air passing through the valves and into my air intake.Pros: Box is very secure. Easy to use. This is well worth the money, as I have already saved myself from having a mechanic do this and I know what's not wrong with my bike.
