Fantastic cage for my iPad 11 pro. I’ve attached two side handles and use it as my filed monitor for shoots. The battery and stand also come in very handy.

Bought this for a multi country documentary shoot. When you add a handle and the iPad is paired with a teradek or hollyland that supports streaming to their iPad app this becomes a huge, bright and LIGHT portable monitor. It has a battery attachment, but the iPad lasts all day and we never needed anything else. The kickstand was great to be able to set down on table during interviews or like in the photo, on the floor. The only con, is that it’s fits the iPad by tightening a ridiculously large amount of painfully tiny hex screws all around the frame. So don’t think you can pop the iPad in and out quickly. It’s a 5 minute job, if you don’t lose the screws, which isn’t horrible but way too long on set. If you’re using this for a directors monitor, use a dedicated iPad and not one that does double duty (like I unfortunately did). While my smallHD cine7 directors monitor setup has more features, like false color and even camera control, this can’t be beat for slim, light and efficient run and gun work.

edit: third use it's totally messed up. I don't know what's going on, but it flash drains every battery it touches. I tested every single battery, no faults anywhere, bought and used a fresh battery, all of them flash drain within 2 minutes, some within seconds, DO NOT GET.So...I have a cage that my iPhone lives in, and I have absolute loved having. And when I saw a cage that is friendly to the filmmaking setup and gear I have, I just had to try it. I have an older 6th gen iPad I use just for reference work here in the studio, so put that on in here. Fits perfectly, nice and snug. Thankful for the extra set of screws cuz I am definitely that guy. I never know how I lose them, just that I do. Love the magnetic hold for the wrench. I am a little on the fence by the gravity lock used on battery adapter...with filming gear I expect to be able to lock it down. So...that part will be a struggle for me to get use to. But overall the build quality is awesome, looks great, can access my buttons...and use my vast pile of NP batteries to run my iPad...and that's just awesome.

So build quality wise this cage is top notch. All machined aluminum. Can't imagine another case providing more protection than this sucker. Plus you could easily mount it on a tripod so you could use your iPads for a nice little video village. It's the battery plate than I seem to be having a problem with. I have NPF batteries than I have used with many of my other products that are very long lasting. However when used here, they seem to drain way too fast. I did see another reviewer mention the same problem so it might be that they have a real problem on their hands with the battery functionality. Again, the cage is fantastic but considering the price, the battery plate would need to work otherwise the value isn't here considering the current price tag.

Unfortunately this cage would be great, but it blocks the TouchID bar with the 10th Gen iPad. Even when the I pad is recessed to the back of the cage, it is not possible to put your full finger over the touchID (or enough for it to be recognized).Since the 10th Gen iPad doesn't support face ID, you'll have to use you pin every time to unlock, unless it requires you to Apple a password, then you are in trouble and either have to disassemble the cage, or type in your full password.Very disappointing and customer support only acknowledges the issue, they don't do anything about it.Also, this cage only comes with a lightning cable and not a USB C cable.Don't buy if you have a newer iPad
