I bought this adapter to plug in a better quality USB recording mic, to make some instrument demo videos, to get a much better audio recording! The i-phone powers the mic, with this simple adapter, and the resulting videos were much improved!

…it may come in handy one day but I originally purchased thinking this would work with an external drive so that could backup all of my iPhone photos rather than spend money to store photos online. I was wrong!

Probably a different reason than most people buy this, but I was able to use this to have my iPhone receive MIDI clock over WiFi and forward it to my guitar pedalboard. It also seems to work perfectly for USB drives, cameras, etc. I store this in my pedalboard bag; it’s durable enough I don’t think it’ll get damaged.

I could have put up with the tight fit of the flash drives, but this device never worked with any i-pad in the house, right from the start. Since I only bought it (on the strength of the description on Amazon) to use it with an iPad, it was very disappointing and will soon be on its way back there.Now, having had a similar experience with something like this from Apple, I realize that possibly it ONLY works for transferring photos. In which case, it is useless for me, because i need something that will let me transfer various types of files from a flash drive to my iPad. My inexperience at fault. I thought mention of iPad in the description meant that more than photos could be transferred.

I purchased this as a back up to my 10 pin mini usb to lightning cable. I can’t find one so I purchased a 10 pin mini to usb a cable and this adapter and it works perfectly fine. I was able to connect my audio interface without any issues using the adapter. Perfect size and good price.
