Working Principle
The temperature sensor of the car air conditioning system is typically installed on the dashboard inside the vehicle. Its working principle is based on the thermoelectric effect. When the temperature sensor is influenced by heat, it generates a small voltage signal, which is then transmitted to the controller of the car air conditioning system to control its operational state.

I put it in my car and it wouldn't even register anything on my dash so I would recommend getting oem

Having intermittent issues with outside temp sensor. Bought this one for my 2019 CX9. Has the correct part number for replacement. Arrived quickly but installed it and it won’t read the temperature. Won’t even register any temperature at all. Requested a replacement. And it is the same. Waste of time trying to get this product.

Review updated.... The seller reached out (great customer service) and caused me to realize that I needed a different part number. There was nothing wrong with their product, I just didn't do my due diligence.For reference.... From numerous personal experiences..... never ever trust the Amazon vehicle checker compatibility thingy... EITHER WAY. I have had it say parts were not for my car, and after researching the part number they were and are currently installed and working great.... And vice versa. As one of my first bosses told me as I learned how to use a structural steel design program..... Crap in equals crap out. Technology can be the back check, but should never be the..... front check. 🤔The part number for the car listed below aka they one I needed is: G518-61-764A-2007 Mazdaspeed 3 w/ automatic cabin climate control system

So this worked perfectly for my 2008 Mazda 3 2.3l model car. Its just like the oem one it replaced and is working just fine. The dealer wanted more, like usual but this replacement is just like the OEM one. This is an important sensor. It sensing outside ambient air temperature, which then the cars computer or brain uses that temp to calculate all sort of things for the car. My Mazda took front end damage and this little replacement was great.
