TBH, I had no issues with getting this fat container/can. It is small and quiet looking. Yes, you could pur the bacon grease into a cup, or a jar, but this actually conceals the fat, so it doesn't look so bad!

The screen traps debris so bacon fat can be used for cooking other items. The lid doesn't fit very tightly, but that makes it easy to remove with 1 hand. Ok once I grew accustomed to it. I like that it is steel, not breakable and can go in the dishwasher. Not fancy, but a good product for the money: about 7.00 in Aug. '24. I would give it 5 stars if the metal was thicker.

I had an old coffee cup with a piece of aluminum foil over it to store my bacon fat and the other day I realized that I should probably trade up for something nicer. I loked at several of these, and decided on this one. I'd read some negative reviews about the top falling off and that it would rust after a few years.I took all that into account and then realized it was a $9 item. You can spend that on a cup of coffee these days so decided to order it.I'm glad I did. It's actually a bit larger than my coffee cup and I like the strainer. I don't mind that the top doesn't fit very tightly, that's ok. I just put it in the refrigerator and take it out when I have bacon grease. I probably should clean the strainer after each use, but I just let the large pieces stay until they get to be an amount where I figure I should clean it and so far that has worked well.The stainless steel or whatever it is looks nice. I didn't try to find out if it reacts to magnets or what kind of stainless steel it it because as I said earlier it's $9. If it rusts after a few years, I'll throw it away and get another one. If it was a $60 knife, I would be concerned, but a $9 place to store bacon fat... not so much.Overall, it looks good, it's functional and I like the fact that I now have a much more classy way to store the bacon fat :).If you are thinking about it, just go ahead and give it a dance.

This metal jug is lightweight and easy to clean. I store cooking oil that has been used for frying or roasting vegetables. The strainer is brilliant because any bits from cooking is separated easily. The strainer can be washed dried and replaced on the jug. Also very good value for money.

Perfect size and the strainer helps so much to keep oil clean - if I had 1 change would be lid attached securely so if tipped over wouldn’t spill

UPDATE: I’ve used this grease container for 1 year and 7 months and I am having to replace it. It has a tiny hole in the bottom of it. I’m not sure if the can was punctured (I don’t see how it could have been, but it’s not impossible) or if it rusted or something. Seeing as how the hole has a black ring around it on the inside, I’m inclined to think that it either rusted or the grease corroded it. None of these options are acceptable at only just under 2 years old, though. It seemed like it was made from sturdier stuff than that. Otherwise, it was a great little grease can. Perfect size, filter worked great, looked nice. I really liked it.I knocked it down from 5 stars to 3 because it didn’t even last 2 years. I didn’t knock off more stars, though, because I bought one for my sister at the same time that I bought mine and hers is still in perfect shape. Honestly, I wish I could rate it 3.5 stars.**********************************************************************I’ve only had this grease container about a week, but I like it. It seems sturdy, the strainer works great, and it looks nice.
