It worked on my w1080st. Hopefully it will last for 2000 odd hours

Good bulb, all things considered. Gave me a full year of use... pretty heavy use for a projector. It's my second computer monitor. 5000 'equivalent hours' are a far cry short of 5000 real hours but that's Benq's choice, not the bulb.

Edit: The bulb suddenly was very dim one day and I tried the old unplug the projector for a while but it didn’t fix it. It’s so dim that you can barely read the projector menu text and is now totally unusable. I could make out the lamp hours in the menu and it’s 1,505 hours. It should have lasted at least 3k especially since it’s only every been on Eco mode.I thought the bulb burnt out after only 3 months but it was the projector having an issue. I unplugged it and held down the power button for 10 seconds to drain all power. Then I plugged it in and the bulb worked fine.

I use this product around 10-15 hours each week since mid-july in 2017, until the bulb exploded. The lamp life was less than advertised.

Again, seems like a genuine OSRAM bulb. Didn’t get out my microscope, but I did a visual comparison and it’s genuine. Installation took about 15 minutes. If I have to buy one every 10 months I’ll consider that a decent investment to have a 200” screen. Brightness is good even with my mood lighting on. When you install the bulb, wear rubber or latex gloves. Don’t touch it anywhere besides the ceramic “end” of possible.Update:One month in use. Works flawlessly. We use the projector as our “main tv” so it is literally on almost 10 hours straight every single day. This bulb is a GREAT buy.Update 2: it has now been one year, 4 months and it’s still going strong! The lamp has 5426 equivalent lamp hours on it. That’s roughly 226 days of “on time”. We use this project from around noon until midnight, with multiple startup and shutdowns. It is an amazing purchase. See images with lamp hours. Lamp has dimmed slightly but barely.

I used this to replace the bulb in my Benq w1080st. My previous bulb (the one that originally came in the projector) actually exploded after about a year of very extensive use.The installation of this bulb was very easy and straight forward. Look it up on youtube. All you need is a small phillips screwdriver. During the installation, I also cleaned as much dust as I could off of the fans and vents. Hopefully that will help to keep this bulb cool enough and make it not explode. The bulb performance is perfect as far as I can tell. Indistinguishable from the factory bulb. I currently have put just over 200 hours equivalent lamp hours on this bulb. I WILL UPDATE THIS POST IF THE BULB BREAKS PREMATURELY.

Bought this in July 2017 but just put it in the projector. My existing lamp has about 1100 hrs on it so bought it as a backup. Should have tested it immediately but got to it today (Dec 13, 2017). The lamp has 1/4th the brightness (extremely dim) of the original lamp (with 1100 hrs). The colors are all faded and dull. Switched back to my original lamp and it works fine.Maybe I got a bad piece but it sucks to be not able to return it - should have tested it immediately after receiving it. Such a waste of money!! Buyers' beware !!Update (Jan 13, 2018)I contacted the seller around Dec 18, 2017 since the lamp comes with 6 months warranty and I had about 10 days of warranty left. The seller was very responsive and offered that if I send back the defective lamp, a new lamp will be sent to me. I shipped it back over the holidays and I just received the replacement new lamp 2 days ago. Was package was exactly the same as the previously received except that the box was shrink wrapped as well. I installed it today and wow, it works fine - as good as when I bought the projector with the original lamp.Great seller who stands behind their product and honour their warranty. Changing my rating to 4 stars. If it works great for the next 6 months, I'll be providing another update and changing my rating to 5 stars.Update (Sep 15, 2018)The lamp has now ~460 hours on it and has worked flawlessly. The colours and brightness are great. Updating to 5 stars.Update (Apr 9, 2019)Have put on about 900 hrs on the lamp and it has been performing great. Excellent value for the money.Update (Mar 12, 2021)So last night, the lamp bulb plopped (exploded) at about 2200hrs on it with no warning (No dimming of light). Shut it down immediately as I could hear the exploded glass tinkling and rattling inside. It had been on SmartEco all along so disappointed that it didn't last for 3000+ hrs. A lot of people clock ~5000hrs on SmartEco on the OEM bulb and the original bulb is rated for Lamp life: 3500 hours (normal), 5000 hours (economy), 6000 hours (SmartEco).I opened up the projector and the explosion wasn't contained within the lamp housing. Vacuumed out all the glass fragments. Also found that the lamp housing glass had 2 scratches from the explosion.I still had the original bulb with 1164 hrs on it. Installed that and the projector came back to life.Am now looking for a replacement lamp. Haven't decided if I'll buy this one again. Changing the rating to 3 stars, based on short life. Check the photos. I've included one that shows the original OEM and this bulb's markings.
