I like this pulley. It's well built and comes in handy. It works great with a carabiner. The ears are slightly to wide to fit a 3/8" shackle and the hole is slightly too small to fit a 1/2" shackle, so this does limit you to working with carabiners or modifying something. Making it fit a shackle would be outstanding, but it's still great as is.
