Expected a high quality piece from Baldwin. Nice mailslot with back cover. However the bronze oil rubbed finish came off as soon as I touched it. With light rubbing it covered a paper towel, which I included with the returned item. Also all four corners of piece had sharp, ragged edges - which I had to cover with blue tape. Very disappointing.

I bought this bc all my hardware is ORB by Baldwin, but it is black, not ORB. Very disappointed.

I purchased and installed this mail slot in December of 2011 and paid $85.23 for it on Amazon. I have am giving it 1 star because it functioned well and looked good for the first year. Now after 5 years I will have to replace it because it has become an eyesore. I have included pictures in an attempt to show how it looks now. According to the specs...my mail slot is supposed to be oil rubbed bronze in color but made of brass. Brass is non-ferrous, it is supposed to patina...not corrode. My mail slot has rusted and experienced total coating failure. I also included a picture of my door handles ...which are truly non-ferrous to show what the mail slot should look like if it were made of brass
