About this item

  • Bell 22-1-34203-8 R-A-M Compass-Thermometer

It’s no coincidence that Bell is both the first name in speed and the first name in helmets. Born in the 1950's California hot rod and racing scene, Bell founder Roy Richter built an entire industry anticipating the unmet needs of those with a speed-hungry disposition. People wanted to drive fast … he corralled all the go-fast parts he could find into the world’s first speed shop. They wanted to race … he built them race cars. And when the need-for-speed started to reveal some grim realities, Roy did something about that too and Bell Helmets was born. Roy Richter spent his life removing the limits of what was possible — and his unlimited spirit has been Bell’s guiding light for nearly 60 years, earning the admiration, trust and loyalty of generations of champions. Throughout those years nearly every advance on the list of helmet “firsts” were built under Bell’s auspices. That drive to anticipate and create continues, as much a part of Bell’s ethos today as it was back in Roy’s day. Whether for auto racing, motorcycling or bicycling, Bell is synonymous with instilling confidence and enabling awesomeness. Established 1954, proven ever since.

Bought it to use on my motorcycle, thermometer never worked properly, As long as I was parked in the garage it worked fine, take my bike for a ride and it just went crazy, shows temps in the 140 dg. range. Compass never worked at all.

Doesn't work. Stays at the same direction at all times. Now we will see what kind of return policy there is. Do I or they pay shipping. They need to check these out before sending them. Waste of time and possibly money.

I use this on my motorcycle to help me stay direction oriented. I thought it would not work with all the metal around it. But I 2 side taped it to the instrument panel and confirmed it words great as far as the compass goes. Ive riden over 10,000 miles with it. As far at the thermometer it is very sensitive to direct sunlight and might report +10F over the air temp.

wanted an internal temp guage and compass aht did not take up too much space, but was readable. This one did just that. Love it and use it everytime I get into my car

I bought this for my car. It works fine outside the car, but interference in the car makes it go haywire. Not its fault. I should have known this would happen. I recommend it for other uses.

Since I have opened it the temp reading is 5% higher than all my other thermomaters. have not put in car yet.mainly got for temp readings. If it only stays 5% higher , it will be okThought it would be biggerThis item would make a great gag gift, for the person who is hot blooded and always getting lost.got temp ajusted to work, but compass changes if you put anywhere near any metal in carput on dash, and it gets cooked by the sunall in all, save your money and by a real one

I have this mounted on the front of the car dash as my dog travels with me a lot and no matter how hard to try to find a shady space or pop the sunroof up or crack windows, install window shades or put little fans in the windows, it gets hot in a car. This way you can experiment and find out just how hot it gets inside the car at a given outside temperature. (Experimentation here said that 75 outside can quickly become 90 in the car, even with all the above precautions.) Of course, you may just want to know why the steering wheel and the seat covers feel so warm.

the thermometer usually works, but the temperature reading in a car highly depends on where you put the thermometer. for example near the window , air con. or not. under sun or not. Then the compass is useless, because it always point to west.So basically this item is useless.
