A decade ago I bought Bic DV64 tower speakers and loved them. Before I could really finish that home audio setup I ended up moving to a place I didn't have room for them so they went in storage and I used a soundbar for awhile (awful). I recently moved into a larger place and set the DV64's back up and kept finding myself adjusting the receiver so I could hear vocals. Sometimes it felt like I'd get "hearing blindness" after awhile where I could initially hear vocals at one setting , then eventually I ... couldn't. I'd change from 2 channel, to straight, or to 7.1, or whatever sounded best in the moment. It even varied by service (youtube, hulu, direct music, etc).Anyways, I knew I needed a center so I did some research and settled on the DV62, partly because it seemed to be part of the DV "system" but also just generally favorable reviews and because of how happy I was with the DV64's.The speaker arrived earlier today so obviously isn't broken in yet but it's a night and day difference to before. I feel dumb for living for as long as I did without a center speaker. Vocals are clear, I don't need subtitles when watching TV. I can hear the lyrics when listening to music. I'll update the review once the speaker is broken in - I'll be leaving it on when I'm at work to break it in as quick as possible but even just as it is... it's great.It also pairs very well with the DV64's. I'm not actually sure it's designed together as a "system" but they sound very good together. The DV64 towers pick up right where the DV62 center drops out. It allows you to adjust the settings to the strength of each unit. Sometimes the lows do get a little muddled when listening to music from low quality audio sources like youtube but I don't think that's necessarily a fault of the DV64's because if you listen to the same track from a better source the lows don't distort in the same way.Instrumentals on a song are beautiful and rich, the system produces a very nice sound stage although I did a little tweaking with tower placement and settings on my Yamaha RX-V683 receiver to dial it in as best I could and to my own tastes. Honestly, the main drawback is that on some piano recordings I used to enjoy, I can now hear some artifacts that I don't like at all. I think it's the foot pedal being pressed, or it could even be how the pianist is hitting the keys, I'm not sure but it's something I didn't hear with only the DV64's. I'll hear it on the whole recording from an artist, but not hear it on another recording made on a different day, so I know it's not speaker distortion.Classic rock also sounds amazing on it, I think that's probably the target audience for most home audio. Turn on some Fool in the Rain, Maggot Brain or Shine on you Crazy Diamond and be amazed... there are little details in almost every song I've listened to that I've never noticed before (unlike the artifacts in the piano recordings, most of these little details are good!).

Love it! Doing a complete speaker upgrade, starting with this.Movies that I tend to watch over again have a totally different sound to them now - all for the better.All the smaller more subtle audio sounds pop right out now; little things I have not heard before are now there.

I don't consider myself an audiophile though I do have the ear, I just don't have the tech savvy (working on it) or the wallet. I have been slowly upgrading my system, speaker-wise anyway. I have a Yamaha HTR 5540 receiver and now have finished upgrading all of my speakers...finished for the time being anyway. I have Polk Audio RTi A1s coupled with Pioneer SP-BS41s as mains (replacing Sansui SP 7500Xs), JBL N26 IIs as surrounds (replacing Sony 150 bookshelf), a Velodyne CHT8 sub and a BIC America Acoustech H-100ii sub (replacing JBL SW 1000 sub). Things were sounding pretty good but my Onkyo center channel fell flat. Yes a terribly mismatched system before I started changing things out. I am keeping the Sansui speakers and JBL sub for a 2:1 system in another room After much pondering of the reviews here I finally chose the DV-62CLRS by BIC America. I had recently purchased their H-100ii sub here as well and was impressed so I gave them another go with a center channel speaker and I'm happy I did. Big clean and full sound right out of the box; and there is the break in time. Looking forward to hearing how this center channel speaker sounds 60 hours in. The H-100ii sub is about 40 hours in and has improved nicely. As others have said here, you get a lot of bang for the buck with BIC products. Well made, affordable and they sound damn good. I need to find a dealer with a showroom of BIC products so I can hear them all.UPDATE: A lot has been upgraded or updated since this review. I still have the DV-62CLRS and the Acoustech H100ii sub. I replaced the mains (Polks and Pioneers) with a pair of BIC DV64s. I was pretty happy with the JBL N26iis for surrounds but at higher volumes for prolonged periods of time I noticed that the tweeters would heat up and sound scratchy. I switched them out with the Polks and haven't had that issue. I recently switched out the Yamaha 5540 with a very clean Denon AVR 1802 I picked up at a Goodwill. I liked the Yamaha and I've had it for years but the Denon is the better receiver by far.So, this center speaker has really broken in well. Very well matched with its cousins, the DV64s which I've had for 8 months now. Crisp highs and warm mid-range and great power handling. A nice wall of sound in front whether playing music or watching movies. Great value for the money to be sure. The Polks work well with the BICs but I'm going to replace them with BIC Acoustech PL-66s. The H-100 sub sounds great as well. I will be writing reviews or updating for these other BIC products in the coming days.Bottom line: This and other BIC speakers are an excellent value for the price you pay. They must be broken in for 40-60 hours and even then some to really appreciate how good they can sound. Yes there are a lot of excellent speakers out there and I have other systems with some great speakers that are not BICs, but these definitely are a great contender.

If you want a rich base, this is the speaker that you need to complement the subwoofer. Also, it's affordable.
