It needs a lid, fortunately, I found the cap on a cranberry juice Ocean Spray container fits perfectly

I only got the bottle and none of the balls with numbers so I have no use for it

I used to play several games with a set just like this at the pool hall. (the pool hall provided the pills) These sets are inexpensive and they are not very elaborate or fancy. The shaker looks like it is leather but it is plastic. The balls are flat on one side so you can hide the number if you set them on a flat surface. This set is pretty nice but the red ink used to color the numbers bleeds outside of the indentation. The numbers SIX and NINE are actually capital letters instead of a number. I believe that the set we used years ago had a line UNDER the numbers 6 and 9 which did confuse people at times. The NINE is bleed over a bit but you can still read it. The number 3 looks a lot like the number 8. The number 3 and 8 are the worst part of this set, so much so that I thought I had two 8 balls when I first looked at the set!! (in dim light without reading glasses) I took a photo of these and to be honest they are much easier to read in the photo, under the pool table light than they were in the dim light next to a pool table. (I will just warn people and show them the two balls before we play so they look closely) Older people will have more issues with this than younger people and dimly lit pool halls will be more of an issue than brightly lit pool halls.I am not exactly sure why there is a number 16. The balls are numbered 1 through 15. I have seen this in other sets, we simply removed it the 16 ball for our games. I suppose if you lose a ball, you can use the 16 ball as a replacement.I got this set because you can play a bunch of fun games and people who are not expert pool players can participate and enjoy the game. Also, you can involve more than just two players in a game of pool. (up to 15 actually though that might be a bit too much, I have never played with more than about 6.Many years ago, a group of our friends would agree to a game and each player would shake the bottle and draw a "pill" or a "ball" from the bottle. (setting aside the 16 ball as it was useless for our game) You kept the ball that you drew a secret from other players and then you played the game. On each shot, you had to strike the lowest numbered ball on the table first, starting with the one ball if it was on the table after the break. (combos were allowed and slop was allowed!!) If you sunk another players ball, they would pay you a quarter, even on the break. (theoretically, I am not not admitting to any type of super low stakes gambling here....maybe we gave the quarters back after the game....consider them points) If you sunk your own secret ball, you win the game and everyone paid you a quarter or two. (depending on how you decided to play that day)There are so many variants to the game though. Sometimes with 3 players, we would each draw 5 pills (setting aside the 16 ball) and the person with the last ball on the table won. (sometimes you won more if you had more than one of your balls left on the table in the end) In this variation, you could hit any ball on the table at any time. If one of your balls was pocketed, you had to reveal it immediately so everyone knew how many balls you had left. Once all of your balls were pocketed, you were out of the game and didn't get to shoot. (more on this later) We called it cut throat pill pool. When two players were left, you knew exactly which balls were your remaining opponents balls. (the ones that were not yours) At times it was to your advantage to sink one of your balls in order to get 'shape' or 'leave' on another ball. You were still able to shoot if you pocketed your own ball but you had to reveal that you had pocketed one of your own balls. If someone scratched, you randomly put a ball back on the 'spot' where the head ball of the rack is. (you blindly reached into the ball return and pulled out a ball on a ball return table) This is how a player that was out of the game could get back in. If no balls were pocketed so far that game, nothing happened on a scratch.There are so many variations of games that you can play. I believe we made that one up or someone at the pool hall had come up with the rules. I see some rules on Wikipedia and there might be more games on the internet. We just made up games for the most part. We paid by the hour to rent the pool tables at the pool hall and nobody wanted to sit out. It was more fun to play doubles with 4 players or pill pool with 3 or more. It is just another way to enjoy your pool table.

After opening the product and inspecting it I noticed that the number 11 and 12 tokens were missing from the set.

Very disappointed! Ordered because description said rubber bottle and it was hard plastic. Could have ordered any plastic one for half the price!
