too flimbsy... does not stay in position very well at all and now way to tighten the points that would stop it from happening.

Bought for use with Uniden BC125AT scanner. The two joints allow the antenna to 1) be positioned at 90 degrees to the antenna socket (use one joint) so you can lay the scanner down so it doesn't tip over; and 2) be folded to reduce overall length or fold the antenna down against the scanner for transport.Both the joints have a click stop so they stay put either straight or bent 90 degrees; you aren't just relying on friction to keep the antenna sections form flopping about as in some other designs.Performance is likely to be the same as any other antenna of the same length for a given frequency but the mechanical design differentiates this product from some others.

Hard to believe how nice this is for the price. Good reception, and I like the steel sleeve that can be slid down over the joints to provide stability. Most jointed antennas that are this tall tend to fall over, but the sleeve holds it upright even when fully extended.

One downfall they don’t stand up by themselves when fully extended, doesn’t seem like any of the new ones do nowadays. Picks up good for me here though and so I am happy with it.
